if you go back to the first page with the scop policy code on it,it says that the scop applies for each item that has a unique upc code.....so if you buy 3 of the same item you get the first(up to 10$)free or 10$ off if over 10$ and then the adjusted price for the other 2...but for each unique upc code it applies each time for each item,so you are right!barberella

SDM did not want to honor scop today when my son's book rang up higher than the price on the book. $9.99. was supposed to be $9 with a 25% off tag on it. i had to argue with the mgnr on duty and point to the damn code. and she had the nerve to say.."yes..but we don't want ppl to know..oh nevermind." and then finally free it off.
yes we know you don't want ppl to know that your company voluntarily participate in scop and that god knows how many ppl got overcharged on the item before it was caught, and u don't want to reward the customer to restore faith in your scanning practice.
*fume* sorry my rant for the day, i'll shutup now. i don't care if i get the book free or not. i hate feeling like a fraud for having to remind a store about their policies

Oh, I hear ya!!
However... once there is price ON the item (ie: clothing with the tags hanging from size tag, books...) then SCOP does NOT apply. Then it just goes to store policy (and if they are there to serve customers, I believe what they advertise should be it!)... book should have been the price ON the book, and if there was 25% thingie, then that too. But no free/$10 off stuff.

I noticed that Walmart now has its Scanning Code of Practice printed on the back of its flyers. I couldn't find any other retailer that did that.

Just so everyone knows the SCOP is voluntary and not mandatory in all provinces. So some stores are not participating. Those that do need to adhere to it.

lol I love when you try to scop something and the cashier acts like she's never heard of it before - but as soon as you show that you know all about it she goes straight to where all the paperwork is and fills out the info - obviously showing she knows exactly what it is! Had that happen in sobeys a while ago lol hubby was embarrassed but I stood ground and ended up with free garbage bags!
