I know it's their life, but I don't know how anyone could spend as much time as they do on this. I'm watching the show right now and Desirae? was saying how she spends like 5 - 6 hrs a day preparing for her shops / fixing her binder / and shopping for the items totalling 60 hrs. Seems a little excessive to me.

But how often do they have to do giant shops? It can't be weekly if they have stockpiles that will last months or years. I could see it taking a lot of time at the beginning, but after that it would just be maintaining. I'm thinking the veterans did giant shops just for the show (We'll be taping you, show us what you can do!). Otherwise there's no point unless you're donating it to a needy family.or a shelter.or a food bank.

Why can't we have coupon scanners???? It takes the 10 minutes a cashier needs to read 1 coupon out.

I think that scanners will come, but like everything else, it takes time! On this show most of them say "This will be my biggest shop ever" so we know that they have spent plenty of time planning this for the show.
We all need a little sunshine every now and then

Yakisoba noodles must be a big sponsor of the show. Just about every EC'er is buying them.

I like the one guy who always donates his big stockpile at the end of the trip. In one he got 1000 boxes of cereal and donated them all. In amore recent one he got a bunch of supplies for the troops and sent them off. I like what he does with his couponing.
TBH it was the show that got me more involved in my coupon process. I used to just clip the ones I would 'maybe' use from the inserts and toss the rest. Now I know that the ones I wouldn't use, other people online are happy to trade for. Then I get coupons for things my family does use regularly and overall we save a large amount on groceries and the like. Thanks TLC

Yes, Rebecca's husband was not too happy with the cash register being stuck.
Loved that Kelly has a Kindle to track her spreadsheet of her grocery order while shopping. Coupon binder on one side of the cart and Kindle on the other. Really serious couponing and her total was -$0.31!
