Ooh, walnut cake. My Mom used to have a recipe for the most delicious walnut cake...that somehow got lost. & she can't remember the recipe! It broke my heart, but is probably best for my waistline to let it stay a sweet memory.

Take the ones you love give them a great big hug and tell them how much you care for them.You will not know if it is the last day you have the chance to.My MIL was 75 and never sick in her life.She never went to doctors and we always picked on her that we wouldn't know she was sick till she was dead.She played like a 10 year old in the yard with my DD's and was my shopping buddy,entertaining the kids as I dug for coupons.She laughed and shock her head at all my deals. I will miss her but not half as much as Lily.When we told her Nan died she asked if God could make her a new Nan.We said no and she asked if was because God ran out of arms.Her last words to DH were "Thanks for the memories." So true.What a day full of tears and memories.

So very sorry for your loss. Your tribute gave us a very clear picture of a dear of lovely person who touched your lives in just about every way possible.

Just poping in to has hi and thanks for all the prayers.I feel you guys are all my extended family.Things are a little better today but we have our moments.The wake is tomorrow and the funeral on Thursday.She still lived in here own home so there will be all that to sort threw in the coming weeks and months.Hard to believe all the people she touched in our small town.She would drive in town(20mins)every day and go from store to store saying hello to all the cashiers and people she met along the way.Most knew her by name if not for her big smile.I sit here looking out the window thinking she is going to drive in waving to Lily threw the window.She loved kids and spoiled them rotten!! When DH and I would get mad at Lily she would say"I want my Nan!!" because Nan would never get mad at her,could never say no and gave her everything she wanted.We decided to make any donations to the Children Wish Foundation because she loved kids so much.
