Tsunami warning on B.C. coast after large earthquake southeast of Alaska

Residents along the coast of B.C. are a little on edge this morning. A tsunami warning has been posted for the coast of British Columbia following a powerful earthquake in the Gulf of Alaska. The quake had a preliminary reading of 8.2 and struck 278 kilometres southeast of Kodiak, Alaska, at a depth of about 10 km. Environment Canada says the tsunami warning covers the central coast and northeast Vancouver Island coast. The weather agency says people in coastal areas are at risk and should move to high ground. The good news, the Tsunami warning has now been cancelled.

Neil Diamond retires from touring after Parkinson's diagnosis​

No more Neil Diamond -- at least not on tour. The legendary singer has called off a hand full of scheduled shows in Australia and New Zealand. Diamond is retiring amid news he has Parkinson’s disease. He turns 77 tomorrow and the good news is that he will continue writing and recording music.

Blue Jays sign OF Curtis Granderson

The Toronto Blue Jays have officially signed free agent outfielder Curtis Granderson to a one-year contract (US $5,000,000). Granderson, 36, posted a .212 batting average in 2017 with 24 doubles, 26 home runs and an OPS of .775 in 147 games. The Chicago, Illinois, native appeared in 111 games for the New York Mets before his trade to the LA Dodgers where he appeared in 36 regular season games. Granderson, who is entering his 15th season in the MLB, is a three time All-Star (2009, 2011, and 2012), Silver Slugger (2011) and was named the 2016 Roberto Clemente Award winner. The left-handed hitter holds a career batting average of .252 with 319 home runs and an OPS of .812.
