”Sleep tight”

Another day, another daydream about sleeping in a wine barrel. This time, it’s in Douro, Portugal, where guests of the Quinta da Pacheca Estate are invited to stay in giant wine barrels in the middle of a 116-year-old vineyard.
The vineyard sits on a 280-year-old estate owned by Paulo Pereira and Maria do Céu Gonçalves. On-site accommodations include 270-square-foot rooms that are giant replicas of wine barrels used in the estate, which includes 15 wine-making rooms, Metro reports.
The cavernous barrels include a private bathroom with a walk-in shower, a “large, round bed,” a skylight, and a terrace. They even have air conditioning and WiFi, Metro reports.
Amenities also include wine, of course, with bottles of red, white, rosé, and port available in a nearby house dating to the 18th century. Samples of locally made olive oil and jam are also available, and a restaurant offering local cuisine is on the property as well.
Although certainly a special experience, Quinta da Pacheca is not the first to offer giant wine barrel rooms to sleep in. As VinePair reported last week, a small winery in Sasbachwalden, Germany offers visitors the chance to sleep among the vines at Schlafen im Weinfass, with eight giant wine barrels on site. A VRBO listing in Washington State also offers a wine barrel room on site, and in Porto, Portugal, the Yeatman Hotel invites guests to stay in rooms with wine barrel-enclosed beds.
Agave spirit aficionados will be happy to know that at the Matices Hotel de Barricas in Jalisco, Mexico, guests can stay overnight in giant wooden barrels akin to those used to age tequila.

Ethiopian Airlines crash kills 157

Eighteen Canadians are among the victims of an Ethiopian Airlines plane crash that killed all 157 people aboard. The new Boeing 737 MAX 8 went down shortly after takeoff from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia’s capital, enroute to Nairobi yesterday. Boeing is sending a technical team to the site of the crash to try to determine what caused the plane to go down.

OPP to conduct distracted driving campaign this March Break

Expect a lot more kids walking city streets over the next week. It’s March Break and with that drivers are being reminded to stay focused on the road. In fact, starting this morning the OPP will be cracking down on distracted driving, launching a blitz that will run to Mar 17. Motorists found driving while distracted could face a fine of up to $1,000, three demerit points and a three-day licence suspension for a first offence under new, tougher penalties that came into effect across the province on Jan. 1.

Few of my friends got together yesterday and we went to the country for a ride on ski doo ..while we were preparing a lunch ..someone said look at the caribou’s coming ..when i look around ..i couldn’t believe the herd of caribou’s was so close to us ...guess our moose sausages etc got caribou’s hungry too LOL so they drop by for while ..what a awesome day it turn out to be after all .

Hey s-sters
Got back from Mexico on the 26th. First week was awesome, lots of beach time and relaxing then the second week my diverticulitus flared up and left me quite uncomfortable. (Maybe too much of Olivia's salsa sauce) Finally had to go to the clinic and get some meds to help me out.
Plane was delayed an hour taking off from Toronto while they de-iced the plane. Then the plane was delayed in Houston on the way back because some idiot just had to be an idiot and get himself kicked off the plane...
Saw a couple of cruise ships go by and waved at you Hteam...guess you didn't see me!!!
