Flights delayed after fire breaks out at Pearson

There’s still no word on what caused a fire at Pearson International Airport that led to traveller chaos. The blaze broke out at around 6:30pm last night, leading to the evacuation of Terminal 1 and the cancellation of all US- in-bound flights. Operations started to return to normal a few hours after the fire was put out. No major injuries were reported. This comes as both Air Canada and WestJet continue finding alternate air craft for many passengers who were affected by the grounding of all 737 MAX 8s last week.

Several hurt in Netherlands as man opens fire in tram

More gun violence breaking overseas this morning -- a man has opened fire in a tram in the Dutch city of Utrecht, injuring several people, police have said. A square near a tram station in the west of the city has been cordoned off by authorities and emergency services are at the scene. The shooting, which was reported just before 6am EST is now over but police say the operation is ongoing.

Andreescu beats Kerber at Indian Wells for first WTA title

Canadian Bianca Andreescu has her first WTA title. The unseeded 18-year-old from Mississauga, Ont., upset eighth-seeded German Angelique Kerber 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 in the women's final at the BNP Paribas Open on Sunday.
