Ontario's Wiarton Willie didn't see his shadow on Groundhog Day, meaning it'll be an early spring.
Nova Scotia's Shubenacadie Sam also didn't see shadow, which predicts winter's days are numbered — even though it's been a mild one.
But the American groundhog is in disagreement.
Punxsutawney Phil in Pennsylvania saw his shadow, predicting six more weeks of winter.

Well, the H.S. appreciation thingie was nice. They had pizza etc for everyone. Gave certificates to the volunteers. The new CEO said a few things, so glad it is him now and not that Tim Trow guy! The place really is a lot better now. The animals are better looked after, the cages are bigger for the cats, they get more attention and the dogs get out more often. I think they are doing the best they can. We just need more people coming in to adopt the poor animals that have been left there and less people "dropping" their animals off there I really wish people would make a commitment to keep their pets and not just get rid of them when they do some little thing they don't like the stress the poor things go through is unbearable for them.........

my first kitty had her 'operation' when ths was on wellesley
i'm guessing, in a tiny little place - 1976 ish? been a while.

wishing i had been able to adopt from tsh etc. but for some
reason i seem to have kitties adopted to me - crazy cousin
who didn't have hers 'taken care of' - mom's cat adopted
from pet etcerta (front claws removed - dingbats).
dads gf's cat - who lived in a condo for 14 years and he
took to the school house and let outside!!! (foxes/coyotes)
and of course sweet jessie who i got in from the back step
last year --- does anyone else notice i give out some catnip
scent?

Police to reveal details of massive child- bust

TORONTO, Ont. - Provincial police are calling it the largest child ography bust of its kind in Canadian history.

Officers from 23 different police services have reportedly rounded up more than 50 suspects accused of accessing child ography online.

More than 200 charges are said to have been laid.

Police are expected to hold a press conference at 10 a.m. to reveal details of the investigation.
