Qantas Airlines:Repair Division After every flight, Qantas pilots fill out a form, called a 'Gripe Sheet' which tells mechanics about problems with the aircraft. The mechanics correct the problems; document their repairs on the form, and then pilots review the Gripe Sheets before the next flight. Never let it be said that ground crews lack a sense of humour. Here are some actual maintenance complaints submitted by Qantas' pilots (marked with a P) and the solutions recorded (marked with an S) by maintenance engineers. By the way, Qantas is the only major airline that has never, ever, had an accident. P: Left inside main tyre almost needs replacement. S: Almost replaced left inside main tyre. P: Test flight OK, except auto-land very rough. S: Auto-land not installed on this aircraft. P: Something loose in cockpit. S: Something tightened in cockpit. P: Dead bugs on windshield. S: Live bugs on back-order. P: Autopilot in altitude-hold mode produces a 200 feet per minute descent. S: Cannot reproduce problem on ground. P: Evidence of leak on right main landing gear. S: Evidence removed. P: DME volume unbelievably loud. S: DME volume set to more believable level. P: Friction locks cause throttle levers to stick. S: That's what friction locks are for. P: IFF inoperative in OFF mode. S: IFF always inoperative in OFF mode. P: Suspected crack in windshield. S: Suspect you're right. P: Number 3 engine missing. S: Engine found on right wing after brief search. P: Aircraft handles funny............ (I love this one!) S: Aircraft warned to straighten up, fly right, and be serious. P: Target radar hums. S: Reprogrammed target radar with lyrics. P: Mouse in cockpit. S: Cat installed. And the best one for last.................. P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer. S: Took hammer away from midget.

I was noticing at the hospital yesterday, how many people who glued to smart-phones-blackerries-Galaxies...etc. People buzzing around in such a hurry. I always seem to manage to have a pleasant conversation with someone & even learn something new...

This just might be my kind of cafe. (even though I am a new IPad owner-operator)

I recall the original English series Steptoe & Son (covered by U.S as Sandford & Son) and the old man referred to Qantas as "quaint arse"

Good morning everyone.. I've been mia again.. Momma passed away on the first, we've been some busy every since.. back to w*rk now.. not sure if I should be here.. can't seem to stop crying..she was my "go to girl" with happy and sad and angry news.. she just listened, let me vent, then we drank beer and watched the cars go by out front or the birds in back.. she humoured my Sadie by playing ball any time.. always had a cookie for Snoopy.. As per many of my stories.. Loved to camp or do just about anything with her family.. I lost my best friend ten days ago..how does one go on.. but we do =(

My heart goes out to you. You must be feeling like life just isn't fitting too good right now. I know how close you were to you Mom & I always enjoyed hearing the stories of your camping adventures & wonderful family times. The pictures you shared with us over the years made me think that your Mom (& your family) would be people that I would love to sit down at a table with in comfort & style.... That's what a family is all about.

Your Mom will be always be a shining star in your hearts & memories. With sureness of love she will continue to inspire in the people she touched.
