my sister was in London today with my brother. she was able to get him up walking around a bit & wheelchaired him outside for a while. they even went to the cafe for some lunch. 1st solid food for him since friday. he doesn't enjoy food anymore, it has no taste. that sounds familiar. she was able to talk to the doctor & he confirmed that the thyroid is cancerous. what kind is still to be determined & we won't know till thursday now. she has a meeting set up with all the doctors, on friday, as to what course of treatment will be done & whether we can move him to Credit Valley. he will have to keep the tube in for life in order to breathe. the tumour is extremely large & has wrapped around the esophagus, which is why the tube, as well as the carotid artery. he is in stage 4, so whatever treatment they decide, it will be more for comfort, as there is no cure. we're all just taking this 1 day at a time. sometimes, life just sucks.

I am so sorry to learn that another family have been seized by this monster. It makes me so sad to hear that your brother has to endure this. It sounds very complicated & trying to excise the tumour could be dangerous. I am glad that you & your family have rallied together to support him. I know how devastating & unsettling news like this can be. Please, keep the faith.
HTeam the coming weeks are going to be very trying & emotionally draining. Please know my heart is with you & a few prayers will also be sent your way.

Cancer moves in quietly & always without permission,
It is the goal of its victims to send it into permanent remission,
It is cursed, it is merciless, it invades so invasive,
It is harsh; it is cruel, so savage & abrasive,
It has no shame, no mercy & it cheats victims of all ages,
So we must pick up the gauntlet as it quietly rages,
It can make one so angry, so feeble & entirely ballistic,
But it can’t steal your hope & your trust to remain optimistic,
We all know the story & the many chapters in the cancer story,
& it has nothing redeeming & it certainly has no glory,
But, it can be fought & discussed, as it needs to be vented,
& the sorrow we frustration we feel is justifiably lamented,
Incredible people who are merely living their lives,
Are so caught off guard, as uninvited it arrives,
Goodhearted people, our family, our neighbors & beloved friends,
All wishfully longing for cancer to please make amends,
One cannot endure this albatross from way back in the bleachers,
So many variances & types with many different features,
Keeping the hope, the faith & sharing your dossier with others,
Helps keep you sane & hold onto your druthers,
Don’t think about blame, or fuss about fault,
I’d like to triple lock that monster securely in a non opening vault!

The Black Keys did a great show last night, sound was very good. They did a lot of their own material and a few blues covers. The place was filled to the last rows!

I don't like being searched like a criminal on the way in though. They won't even let you keep your empty water bottle because they want you to buy theirs for outragious prices instead of using the water fountain.....

Walking downtown yet again to see a free movie and spend a few hours at the H.S.

I'm very sorry about your bro H-team, wishing him the best although under the circumstances it's difficult to know what to say...........keep the faith.....

We can only try. I am have so much admiration for my friend who works very hard for CARD. She believes in it & the program they offer. Many charities are so deserving & I guess I am partial to CARD as it is such a unique experience for people with disabilities physical & mental. Adults & children benefit & that is so cool by me.

Lily has seen other cats, lives with a cat, but for some reason is obsessed with a neighbour's cat. She hasn't actually seen K in about 3 yrs, but whenever she sees the neighbour, she starts to cry, hoping she has a chance to go visit and play (which consists of the kitty ignoring her, while Lily crawls up close, and then swatting my poor doggy on the nose...which Lily thinks is great fun).
