This was my rendition of the 12 Days of Christmas I came up with on Monday when I was waiting for power to come back. I know Lee-Ann saw it :D

On the twelf day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
12 broken feeders
11 cozy blankets
10 steaming kettles
9 warming stations
8 downed trees
7 swerving cars
6 dark days
5 hours at work
4 cans of soup
3 inches of ice
2 cases of water
and a Power Outage thats annoying us all

well the internet at work was short lived. it went out at 10am & we were back to manual phones & writing of invoices. apparently at 7pm, the whole system is fixed..............again. not sure for how long, but i'm not in tomorrow, so i'm not worried about it till Monday.
good to hear that your drainage problem wasn't too bad, Rockit.

i suggested to hydro that we have a parade for those who came in to help
the people who work for public service are always amazing.

personal stuff:
so been here, at dad's and the s/o since monday
or tuesday, it's all a blur
of fun when i don't drive them crazy,
but is hard on dad when we leave to take care of
the cats who are in his house.
damn alzheimer's.
but is better to convince him to stay here with
a beer then scoop litter, of course he is worried
about the house, although the water is fine.

lucky i have a warm place to be and the cat's
are pooping and peeing as usual
(if you include jessie now peeing everywhere)
oh and my poor cousin's kitty who now
has her own personal heater, connected
to the neighbour who's branch disconnected us
and is now wondering if his other tree is going to cut
off his other next door neighbour, huh?

i have not looked back at how others are doing,
of course i hope you all have power
it is very tiring hanging around with older people
and guess who's birthday

Thank you. Woke up to being back in the dark. I'm working, Mum isn't though so I guess we'll be throwing extension cord lines over the fence again and camping. Luckily, we hadn't gotten around to putting everything away yet so at least we don't need to dig for it again. Sigh.

Good morning all! As of 6pm yesterday our power was back but the trees outside this morning are cracking and creaking so loud it sounds like people walking in crunchy snow. I have my fingers crossed that the power will stay on but Dulcea just posted their power is now out again. Hubby didnt put the extensions too far either so that we could access them quickly if needed. Happy saturday gang

Got it back about 830, so it was out about 3hours but between the winds and the melting it could do on and off or it could just be a pain and go out and not come back for a while. Going to have to keep alert on the drive to and from work today though so that I don't get caught by falling things or things that have already fallen. Stay toasty my friends!
