Thread: Donating your freebies!
-
Mon, Nov 27th, 2006, 10:35 PM #1
Christmas is coming soon and you people probably recieved alot of good freebies, probably more than once! I'm just thinking about donating my good unused freebies along with other little gifts to people in need. Does anybody know where I can drop these off? Churches do these kind of things right?

I would check your local womans shelter and homeless shelters, as well as the food bank. Churches might but you could call first. So far I have only requested things that I would use. So I do not have alot of left overs. I do donate alot of old clothes and household stuff to our shelters.

I requested some freebies from hhmi and I sent them off to my old high school. I'm sure the teacher that I sent them to will be pleased.

I don't sign up for freebies, but I gather the hotel shampoos and soaps to donate.

You could donate them to nanuk and buddies in Afganistan, shes a member of SC and would be happy to get them and it would be in a very good cause.
Be a little kinder than necessary, remember everyone is fighting their own battles.

Nanuk will be back in a month. Mind you a person could pm her and see if someone else would like the freebies. I'm sure they'll accept.
BTW: Parcel Postage is free if someone is sending a package to an Army base.

I've already been putting my freebies that i don't want in a bag to give away at Christmas but i'm also wondering where the best places are to take them to. I would prefer to give things at Christmas to people who literally can't give their children a Christmas because of finances.

i know that homeless shelters need things but i used to volunteer at one and you have to check what you give them because they won't use everything you give them because of certain complications. I would phone the shelter first and ask, or donate to something like winnipeg harvest or christmas hampers for unfortunate families!
