Our appliances were quite high end and they lasted for almost twenty years, so they really didn't owe us anything. My husband got fed up with fixing them. It's nice having a dryer that works (the old one turned off before the clothes were dried and I'd have to restart it once or twice for each load!).

see? I knew it! I do believe in the phrase you get what you pay for ( well within reason of course) but we have always bought the cheaper end of the line when it comes to appliances, and I suppose that is why we only got 8 yrs out of that $300.00 dryer. Also DH can only repair some things, he is no expert, a repair guy would have cost more than what we paid for the dryer to begin with I am certain, so I just pleaded with him..... time to get a new one, perfect Father's Day gift huh? lol

My parents had appliances for 20 years easy (I swear they have the first microwave ever produced) and they are now starting to replace them one by one, not because they're not working but just they want new ones, and 20 years is a pretty good run. They now say appliances are not made to last nearly as long as they did 20 years ago. They expect about 5-10 years out of them rather than the 20+ that was the usual.

Yesterday I baked the cupcakes for my grandson to take to kindergarden for his birthday today. I made 12 and decorated them as baseball, soccer and basketballs for the boys and 12 decorated with flowers for the girls. I also sent juice boxes and loot bags for everyone. So hopefully today they will have a nice little party at school. Kindergarden is such a great year

Today I am putting the finishing touches on the cake I am making for his graduation tomorrow. It's so cute, it says class of 2012 and it's a layer cake. Chocolate fudge, golden vanilla and another chocolate fudge layer. I am going to put cream cheese icing because it's not as sweet. Then I'm adding a diploma to it. I wanted to make tiny diploma's with each child's name on it, but my dd only gave me 2 days notice.....not enough time, I would need a week just to make the tiny diplomas. I will try and remember to take a pic of the cake today.

Here is a pic of the cake I made for my grandsons graduation for kindergarden, before I decorated it. I was running late putting on the decorations I had made the next morning and forgot to get the final picture.

Sorry for the huge pic, not sure why, I'm downloading them with smallest possible size, but ????

Made muffins yesterday - started with an Added Touch oatmeal chocolate chip mix, added a banana, strawberries and substituted the strawberry juice for water.
