Blockbuster Video CLEARANCE sale starts SEPTEMBER 9TH.

When I went in, he told me that the accounts had been closed as of Monday September 5th and that I could no longer use my gift card. He couldn't even look it up, so he said, because they had all been shut down by the powers that be. I am upset if they are still allowing gift cards and he told me otherwise.

Reuters is reporting that the courts have officially okayed the closure of the stores and that the liquidation sales will be starting on Friday, Sept. 9th.

My boyfriend went into one of the locations in Toronto today to use up my giftcard. The lady told him today is the last day to use giftcards. He was able to rent a movie and it's due back by the 9th.

So it looks like a lot of confusion about the gift cards. Should still be good till the 9th.

The sale is scheduled to start on Friday September 9th 2011 and will go either until Oct 1 2011 or until finished by December 31st 2011.
The inside scoop is 15% off games and 25% off everything else. This is not confirmed yet.

Though i rented my game on sunday I'm going to have my brother take it back when he goes for work in 40 mins. I would feel bad later if i did keep it so.. meh.

My brother will no doubt have more info for us tonight when he gets home at 9pm [his other job is right across from blockbuster so he pops in on his breaks]. I'll post if there is anything different.

What confusion? I clearly posted all kinds of info about when the sale starts, when credit is finished and what the percentages will be during the first day of the sale........none of which can be found on their twitter page. Geez some people have no appreciation

My brother just called me. It's 15% off everything starting tomorrow. Personally I find that pointless once you figure taxes unless you find an item under 10 bucks.

I didn't mean confusing persay, I should have put conflicting. But I've gathered all the info i needed via my brother and asking blockbuster canada's twitter.

A few employees at my local bbv got second jobs once the first round of closures happened. The ones that didn't well.. you can guess. I know it's sucks for them most of them have been working there for years but this young girl, just finished high school in june, got hired in july. I feel really bad for her.. but she's taking it in stride, joking around but still... it sucks.

Good luck to all BLOCKBUSTER CANADA employees in their new jobs.
If anyone can help them get jobs I'm sure they would really appreciate it as this was kinda sudden for many employees.
