Safeway's Sweet AirMiles Deals

I never got the Air Miles email with personalized Safeway coupons. I did get a bunch in regular mail though.

But yesterday, got this awesome email from Air Miles/BMO:

I think I can easily spend $20.. lol. 500 Air Miles for $20 spend is amazing.

I just received my BMO Gold card and phoned to cancel my AMEX Platinum (as they raised the fee to $65/yr from $50. I figured the 25% less on Airfare and the fact that it earns AMs on bank balances would recoup the price difference easily. I had phoned AMEX earlier to see if the threat of cancellation would have an effect but it didn't so after receiving the BMO Gold I phoned to officially cancel as my renewal date was approaching. LOL! They'd already renewed it for another year for $50 and I can't get the money back.

I'm a bit peeved about having 2 paid cards now and long story but had it not been renewed AMEX has a bonus 500 AMs on right now for new Platinum Cards.

PS: I intend to hit 2 Safeways today with the bonus B2G40 coupons I got by email on Campbell's soup. They say 1 offer/shop so I'll see if I get double. Combined with the current offer it'll be B6G90.

Actually, it reads:

Limit one Bonus Offer or item discount per coupon

As the coupons appear to be personalized I'm guessing the second one won't work, but hey, it'll still be another 50 AMs.

I did get the 500 Airmiles Bank of Montreal offer though. That was nice.

I also have a no fee Airmiles AMEX, which I got specifically for Costco, they emailed and said that if I made 5 purchases over $20 by December 31st that I would get 50 Airmiles " at any American Express merchant" Does that mean it has to be an Airmiles merchant, like Shell or Safeway, or just any merchant that accepts AMEX. It was just confusing because if it is just an AMEX merchant, isn't that a given - if they don't accept Amex, then that's it isn't it.

I received them Friday.. they came from Air Miles in a blue envelope.

Bob - how personalized are they coupons you got in email? The ones from regular mail, says they can't be transferred.. but there's not a unique bar code.. just a standard 'PLU'.

The ones I got by email have a barcode, no PLU and my collector card no. partially disguised at the top on each coupon.

Just did the first shop no problem. Came home because I forgot to take my $3 Green Works coupons with me and want to use them to get the B$605Xs coupon as well. Will try later today to see how it goes.

Interesting. Maybe you have your settings to not receive old fashioned mail from Air Miles? I got similar coupons in regular mail (based on products I've bought in the past).

Nothing at all showed on my receipt from Oak Bay. This has happened before there.

Just bought 4 soup and 2 broth to get my 6 for 50AMs.

Had to take it to CS where they credited me with 90 but they didn't know I'd used the B4G40 soup coupon earlier so I'll just have to wait and see if they honour it.

I got my blue envelope today. Thank goodness, I was feeling a little left out. It is nice to get Airmiles for products you buy on a regular basis.

New to the forum and got a question. We purchase groceries at Safeway quite regularly and take advantage of the Air Miles offers. I used to notice that my acct would be credited with the miles within a week to 10 days of the transaction. My last transaction happened in the middle of Oct and hasn't been credited yet. Has anybody noticed this with there acct? Thanks for your help.
