I was just in the PharmaSave up the street talking to the local manager.

She checked the back of a PharmaSave gift card, didn't see anything that said you couldn't so assumed it was all right to us PS Gift Cards to purchase other GCs they sell.

However, she wasn't fully sure and said she'd ask head office Tuesday.

I have another option for gift cards. At "Staples" they sell visa gift cards that can be used anywhere visa is accepted (including safeway). I ordered $200 of Staples cards and then used them to buy a $200 Visa gift card (I had to pay a $6.95 activation fee). I know its not the best deal, but you can use it anywhere.

Thanks for sharing but I think the AMs redeemed on Staples GC are expensive adding to that the activation fee. I redeem my miles on HBC or Gas GCs. I get my milk, eggs, toilet paper, and yogurt from Zellers. All are free because of this great thread!
