^ You're in Ontario? The ban is already in place:

Policy on Loyalty Points Programs, effective July 1, 2004
- Bonus points, loyalty points or air miles may not be awarded on prescriptions, prescription services, or other professional services related to the practice of pharmacy in Ontario.
- Points may not be redeemed, or used as legal tender, for the purchase of prescriptions.
- Prescriptions, prescription services, or other professional pharmacy services may be paid by a major credit card that is linked to awards, loyalty points or air miles through special agreements with financial institutions, except where directly or indirectly, a special gift, bonus, or other inducement is offered for prescriptions, prescription services or other professional pharmacy services.
- This policy does not affect the College’s current position respecting pharmacies and parking charges. Pharmacies that reimburse parking charges (for a client who is having a prescription filled) are not in violation of current regulations (professional misconduct), as long as such reimbursement is not advertised.

They still allow it in alberta... In ontario they stopped it years ago. If they do stop it... I have full coverage and I will swap from safeway to shoppers in a heart beat. Shoppers delivers when I can't get out of the house...and they have a bigger selection of things that could be needed like crutches and canes. I went to Safeway with a prescription for a cane and they didn't have one. If it wasn't for airmiles I would have switched on the spot. BTW the safeway pharmacy staff is not the most friendly I have met up with some... well not 100% nice natured staff.... staff that I have always been nice to treat me differently because they see my medical services card from the government and assume I am a person taking advantage of the system...I have a genetic disability I have no control over.... if there comes a time when I don't get airmiles... I am gone from there in a heartbeat... I get a hassle every time for the over the counter meds I get covered when i NEED them... safeway's pharmacy sucks...just sayin.

I will check that out, OB. thanks. I also noticed that I'm charged $15 per person "administration fee". Used to be you were only charged that if you called and had one of their customer service reps book your trip. I prefer to skip them and book online. Guess they charge that fee no matter how you book. grrrrr
The air miles ended up being $0.22 each so a very good deal (I just don't like paying extra fees to line their pockets!)Last edited by kelsie94; Wed, Dec 18th, 2013 at 03:47 PM.

So disappointed with Safeway! I can't even make a list for $50 never mind $200!! Loads of processed stuff and tons of junkfood! I notice the vitamins are on the same page as all the junk! Too funny! Oh well, no air miles for me again this week.
