Congrats!!! That is so exciting!!!
Just remeber it's not the size or cost of the wedding that matters it's who is there to support you and your hubby to be that makes the wedding.
DH and I did a civil ceremony here and the "religious" one in Mexico. If I had my way I would have just gone to Mexico and just did city hall in blue jeans here.
None of DH's family came to Mexico( and they can all afford it) but my family that really couldn't afford it found the cash and came. When I think back to our day I would not have had it any different. The people that truely loved us and supported our marriage were there(hence DH's weren't
).
Just remeber to enjoy yourslef and not get overwhelmed with $$$ and what people say you should do.
Oh ya, don't forget to post pics here after since we can't all attend

Congratulations and best wishes!!!
(Remember that big expensive weddings are often for everyone BUT the bride and groom... do what you two want and never let others question it. Save your hard-earned money for things that matter, like FOOD and SHELTER, lol.)Jonesy

Congrats - awesome brag. We had a total of about 16 guests - no friends, just family. Was the best day of our lives! Enjoy every minute of it!

Congratulations. We had a very small wedding. Married by a town councillor at city hall, pictures in the local park and at Inglis Falls, reception dinner at East Side Mario's and a party at the home of the best man. Dress for me - $40, Shirt for him - $50, shirt for best man - $5 (great deal), dress for best chick - $25 (all things that can be worn again.) Flowers were $20.00 for all (my best chick made all bouquets and such). Our titanium wedding bands - $20 for both (gotta love ebay) The biggest expense was the license and the ceremony - (amount is not in my brain at the moment).
The weather was beautiful, family surrounded us and a good time was had by all.
I wish you the best and hope your experience will be just as wonderful as mine.
Good luck and best wishes.I feel evil !!!!

Congratulations!
(I'm baffled, BTW, why this was moved OUT of the brag section??......It's OK to brag about our shopping trips & show off pictures of our cupcakes, but not about wonderful moments in life that are meant to be celebrated?)

Congrats on your engagement!
When I got engaged I was only 21, my Hubby and I could not afford a ring either. ... so we went to cash converters (Pawn shop) and found an engagement and wedding band set that we both really liked, paid less than $400 for both. After I got it apppraised, and was pleasantly suprised to find out the entire set was worth $3000.
When it came time to get Hubby's ring we went right back to the same store and paid $50 for it, and it's worth $500.
Maybe that could be an option for you as well. Some people don't like to wear other peoples wedding rings because they say the come from a failed Marriage, But i would just like to say... That's not the case here... We will be celebrating 11 yrs in Oct.
Congrats again!

Thanks everyone so very much!!!!!! We are just going to do the justice of the peace thing and my parents can rent a small hall for zero cost!!!! We figure we can put alot of music on our laptop so free music!!!! We are planning on a midnight lunch and very few decorations. As long as we can celebrate with friends and family I am happy. Rings or no rings its all about the love. No wedding dress just a nice cocktail dress will do...I am soooo excited and have no idea where to start

congratulations, wishing you both all the best. My husband and I had a beautiful wedding very cheap, I am glad I did it that way instead of being in debt for it later on.
