It's funny that as of a year ago, I was soooo happy to redeem my 8000 shoppers optimum points for $10.00 off my PGX Daily. The cashier asked me if I really wanted to do that, and I said of course! When would I really get that many points again!? well, in july I made it to 8000 points again, and here it is october of the same year, and I am at over 95,000 points(whoop whoop from a previous thread! hee hee...maybe start the car kind of moment, lol!) so when they have the mega-redemtions, how many points do you need for $250.00? I feel like I can compete with the big-gunners now, lol!!!

Mega redemption has only happened once in the entire history of the program and that was last year in December. At that time if you had 95,000 points you could redeem for $250.00.
Hope that helps!

Keep looking at the bonus points thread, here on SC, and keep doing the 20x points events....but only on things you use, and get a gift card first, for what you are going to spend, on a seperate transaction( you get base points for it, whoop whoop!!)

So if you buy a gift card, you get points for that. Then you get points for whatever purchase you make with the gift card? I'm also fairly new to shoppers points and am trying to learn as much as possible.

Not from what I have heard or seen. There have been different promotions that SDM has run in the past but never one where you got $80 more than the regular redemption level. I have been a member for over 5 years. You can maybe take this up in the SDM forum and have it confirmed with others if you like. All of the SDM experts over there would be able to answer your questions about maximizing points, tips and tricks etc better than I would.

That's great. I can buy the gift card with my canadian tire credit card which will give me canadian tire money there, then do my purchase then go pay my credit card right away. YAY!!!

i am pretty sure they are doing another $250 for 95k points. i am pretty good friends with the lady at the makeup counter at my shoppers. she said it was such a big sucess that she was pretty positive it would happen again. i have just over 130k and the key to getting lots of points fast is to buy the items with bonus points using coupons. and of course the $50 gift card.

I never buy 50$ worth. That is my biggest problem. Most of my purchases come from w.m. and grocery stores. I'm gonna have to find a way to make more purchases there.
