We all know, Kraft Dinner is a staple for most of us. Not for me because I'm celiac, but I always have it in the house for the grandkids. Yes there is plain old KD, then then there is KD with hotdogs (a favorite of one grandson), but what else do you do to it to jazz it up?
I like to add coloured peppers and green onions that I cut up small and saute in a bit of butter.
I also like to add cooked crumbled sausage and sage and fresh time, put it in a casserole dish with shredded cheese on top and bake it for about 20 minutes (another favorite with a few of the grandchildren).

My aunt eats it with raspberry jam, but I sometimes I add ketchup, squash, grilled vegetables or fresh tomatoes, it depends on what I have on hand. It is very rare that I eat it and when I do it is never plain.

Add rice
or mix 1 box spirals (or 3 cheese) 1 box regular ( and fridge the remaining) the mix of texture, I find is better.
add crumbled ground beef.
Honestly the only one I can eat is the 3 cheese and spirals, it just tastes different for me. I'm addicted to KD, even though it's not healthy I try not to eat it too oftenLast edited by Brandy Hunter; Wed, Oct 26th, 2011 at 12:25 AM.

Man I forgot how much of that stuff I used to buy when DS #1 was here. I have not bought it in like 5 years or so. The other 2 kids don't request it or miss it either.
The only thing I ever did was add steamed broccoli to it for extra nutrition.

Throw in a can of flaked tuna. No I'm not kidding, it's good.
I also like to add more cheese. If I use the KD packets of cheese as the extra, the uncooked macaroni can be added to other pasta meals. Cheese whiz also works to give some extra cheesiness.

Has anyone ever heard of cold KD salad? It's my family's favourite. Just make the KD wiithout the milk or butter, just drain the macaroni and mix in the powder. Let it get cold. Add mayo, chopped celery, dill pickles and onion. You can also add a can of drained tuna if you like. Great meal on a hot, sunny day!
