Most times I just buy their groceries for them.

I give them the coupons and constantly nag them about whether they used it or not. Then I threaten and then I yell. Most times it works. My parents aren't adverse to using coupons, they just don't always remember they have the coupons or they won't put the effort into going (hence the yelling)

Mine got yelled at by a cranky cashier, so they're now scared of using coupons. They come visit me every week, so we go on a road trip (for big items I have coupons for). Anything small, I pick up for them with my coupons & surprise them. Sometimes they even reimburse me.

They don't want their job, there are plenty of unemployed people who would like to be earning a living and are willing to not give the customers attitude.

Of course, I only get snippy if it's unprovoked crankiness. But then? Just back away slowly, with your hands where I can see them...
