So I have a question for you professional coupon users. I used 4 coupons today at SDM and then stopped by our usual grocery store to pick up a couple other things. After calculating it out, I saved about $5 using the coupons I had. I only used one coupon per item purchased and bought 4 things, dish and laundry soap, toothpaste and shampoo.
When I stopped at our local grocery store I noticed the Ocean Spray juice on sale at 2/$5.00 so I bought two. Only $2.50 each which is a good deal. Once I got home, I simply visited the Ocean spray website and found the coupons for $1 off. Being I did not have them until now, I am planning on going back to the store and buying more Ocean Spray at $1.50 with the coupon.
The question is, how do you guys do that? Do you go down with lets say 5 or 10 coupons and buy 5 or 10 at once if it is allowed by the store? Is that how you maximize the savings on this product and other products you buy? I do understand that some stores will not allow such a purchase but we have 3 people in our home so we can go to three different cashiers and each use one coupon still getting 3 at a good price. So do you buy as many as you can when you use your coupons? thanks, I am just learning the benefits of couponing lol.
OH, btw, i searched here and did find a post about the Ocean Spray juice coupons but after I looked it up myself being I am a bit stupid LOL.Taking my wife out for dinner Friday night.

Depending on the sale price, I will buy as many as we can store and use (we don't have a lot of kitchen space so we try not to store too much stuff food wise), but sure, if its a good sale and you have coupons, buy as much as you will use

Lately I always have a fistful of coupons to hand the cashier lol. But I think for some reason, I seem to cap the amount of each different coupon at about six. I think my reasoning is that anything beyond that may provoke eye-rolling and comments from cashiers lol. Yeah, now that I really think about, I may use 18 of one coupon in a week, but it would be in three trips. I've never bought 20 of anything at once. Not that there's anything wrong with doing that. It's just my own little quirk lol.

In terms of how many you buy, you should be aware of other people who may want to buy the item (ie. clearing out the shelves is not kosher). It's not coo'.

Don't forget to read the fine print on the coupons especially on multi purchase sale items. Sometimes they say one per transaction or one per customer. In that case you'd have to buy 2 to get the sale price but could only use 1 coupon.
Good luck!

Yes, clearing shelves is not cool (unless there is only 2 left etc obviously)
Because of the Catelli $1 sale, my WM capped EVERYTHING at 4-6 max per person, someone came in on the first day and bought 4 cases, when they were stocking shelves and then by day 2 there was nothing left and the cashiers were dealing with upset customers all week
As far as how many I buy, it does depend on the item and how many are on the shelf. Back when WM had SideKick potatoes on sale, they had loads, I asked if they had the one with beef gravy and the guy brought out the cart to stock it as well as give me some, so I took I think 10-12 each of chicken and beef for a food bank donation and went back for 5 of each for ourselves another day.
If its something small or more usuable, I will buy more at a good price than bulkier items but like Anne I tend to cap what I am buying at 4-6 of each coupon. You may also run into issues of cashiers saying one per purchase is one per transaction than item

The most I have ever used of one coupon for the same items is four - but also, others for other items.
There's someone on another thread who used 80 of these Ocean Spray coupons at once! Just can't imagine doing that!
