Why haven't people heard of the TacoTime Veggie Burrito?

Anyone ever try the Veggie Burrito?

TacoTime operates in Western Canada and Ontario, so their restaurants are pretty widely accessible, and they've been around for decades. Since I was a teenager, my favourite food court fare has been the TacoTime Veggie Burrito. The thing is, I've recently discovered that it's not very well known! Nobody I've talked to about it has ever tried it.

It has Mexican rice, refried beans, tomato, lettuce, cheese, and sour cream. It's made with a whole wheat soft tortilla, and is great with the added hot sauce. Nothing I've ever had in a sit-down Mexican restaurant has compared to it in terms of texture, complexity, and freshness. If I could go to a sit-down restaurant and have a plate of two veggie burritos covered in taco sauce and cheese with Mexican rice on the side, I'd be beyond thrilled.

It's worth trying on your next trip to the food court!

We only have one Taco Time in our city and its pretty far from us, but we have eaten there a few times. I find their food is a lot better and fresher than Taco Bell!

I'm not a fan of burritos, but I love hard shell tacos - love to go there on Taco Tuesdays when they are on special!

As far as I know there isn't one in my city. I go to a local taco joint called Ahora's. Delicious.

its salsa not tomatoes They are fantastically tasty, but not really very good for you...I also used to manage one.

I e-mailed head office to suggest they advertise the burrito more (beyond just making it a "special" at their locations. I think its appeal goes beyond just the people who really like Mexican food. They mentioned that they're currently sourcing ingredients that will be used to make some of their menu items healthier, as they're going for "Health Check" on certain menu items. Apparently, the Veggie Burrito is one item that will be undergoing these changes.

Hope it's just as delicious! (Now that I think of it, I think it also contained sunflower seeds at one point...)

Natalka, you really need to try it when you go to TacoTime! It's not the usual burrito! I don't usually like other kinds of burritos either.
