I was at NF today and saw they had meatless meatballs for $4.99 a box, regular price was around $7.99. At checkout they rang up as $7.99 and I told her the sign said $4.99. She called someone who looked at the sign and said they were on sale last week and gave them to me for $4.99.
Should this have been a SCOP? This is the second time this has happened to me at a NF and I didn't ask for a SCOP because I wasn't sure of the rules.
Also, for those of you who have more than one NF nearby, compare some of the prices from one to another. I'm in Scarborough, ON and noticed that the one at Brimley/Eglinton and Victoria Park/Eglinton are cheaper than the one at Kingston/Midland. I usually go to the last one but will be switching. Just noticed it with Egg Creations, $2.57 at Brimley where at Midland it's $2.99 and I remember the Vic Park one being cheaper as well. Their sale prices aren't cheaper but I think the day to day stuff, for a large part, it.This thread is currently associated with: No Frills

Does NF participate in the SCOP program? If they do and the shelf label includes the SKU# (and can be verified), then, yes you have a SCOP. Depending on store policy, some cashiers are not allowed to offer SCOP without the customer bringing it up first.
It's good that they honored last week's price...I probably would have mentioned the scanning error. Next time it happens, think: you have nothing to lose by saying something.

I read on a couple of different websites that No Frills does participate in the scanning code of practice so if you mentioned it, you could have gotten it for free. I don't know if it varies between provinces though.

No frills DOES participate in SCOP. I have gotten more than one thing for free in a toronto No frills location. If they verify the price and its less than what it initially rang up for say,
"Cool. So because of the scanning code of practice I get that free right?"
They will usually say yes, and they might have to call a manger over and they will do it for you, cause there is a code you have to ring in to override it, but yes. They definately do scop in no frills locations in toronto.

For sure a SCOP. Even if the sign was left there by mistake! I bought two different cough syrups at SDM the other day with a sign left up by mistake for $6.99. I asked for SCOP. She wouldn't give it to me making up some story that they don't do SCOP (though the have the sign on the door) so I went through management and got them both for free.

I've never had issues with SCOP and have got multiple items fom both walmart and SDM... But the other day they had advil on sale for 2.50 reg 12.99 ( I know it wa already a great price but could have used my cpn on another one to get two free) I asked if I was going to get the item free because it scanned at a higher price than advertised and he came back with no because it's not the same UPC can anyone explain this reasoning to me...

I had a similar situation and I knew SDM honors the scop even though the item was on clearance I pushed bit back and the chashier next door corrected the one that was telling me different. The stores need to honor the policy if they choose to promote the fact that they do it.

I have had a cashier tell me at SDM that I have to cash out first before I can get a scop. If I bring it to their attention before I pay (but after it rings in), they can just correct it and not give it free. I didn't know at the time, but if they try that again, I will speak to a manager.
