i read through the thread and i noticed (as i was watching to show also) many mentioned(show called it that also) "dumpster diving" but from what i saw she doesn't dumpster dive in the traditional sence she basically blue box dives for coupons.. she from what i figure goes to apartment buildings and checks out paper recycling bins (in apartments they are the size of dumpsters)
When life hands you Edward Cullen...throw him back and demand Eric Northman....

Well, after watching that I feel so... small.
And sane.
Hey, was there something about their coupons that automatically sync with what was scanned and it either is okay or not and the computer determines that and not the cashier? That would be so good to have it like that. So much less stress and less time for all involved.

All this searching on youtube for video clips has lead me to hundreds of videos of people's stockpiles... The green-eyed monster is creeping out of me Darn Americans with their coupon-friendly country.

In all fairness, yes, it's not a garbage dumpster, so it's not AS bad. I don't have a problem with reaching in & digging around, but to climb on in with a kid is pretty crazy *to me*. May not be to others. Check out this video of Nathan dumpster diving (not shown on TLC, just something I found online). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CI5qLtZY8H0
Here's a post by Nathan about the show:
http://www.weusecoupons.com/upload/k...ping-trip.html
And in fairness to him, he says that the show producers asked him to plan "the biggest haul," something that would blow people away, and that he pre-ordered the items he got in mass quantities (even though it shows him taking the items off the shelf, that was set-up for the show), that he donated a lot of the stuff he got in mass quantities (not just the cereal), and he didn't just buy those items shown (he also bought fruits & veggies, yogurt, cheese, etc. And the toilet-paper-chick says she donated all those boxes of pasta.Last edited by blawblaw; Thu, Dec 30th, 2010 at 03:24 AM.

Aw, we don't have TLC and they don't have the show for viewing on their site.
However, some interviews, etc. on you tube.
It's awesome about all the donations!

I've seen in bragging here on SC some people stockpiling massive volumes, too...
About double couponing - when we lived in Lloydminster in the early 90s, the IGA (now Sobeys) had double coupon days. It was awesome since we had a baby, and I wasn't working. But I wasn't mega into couponing then, it was nice just for some regular foodstuffs.Last edited by Natalka; Thu, Dec 30th, 2010 at 05:47 AM.
