I'm sorry - I just HAVE to make another post - I did NOT like
the number of that last one!!
But I do hope everyone is enjoying turkey and stuffing, and cranberry sauce
(which is what John actually SAID at the end of "I am The Walrus")
and maybe pumpkin pie for dessert!
I'm back from a trip, and still unpacking, but we're going to have
our turkey this evening. The place smells WONDERFUL!
Stay well, everybody!

Is there anything better than the smell of Thanksgiving dinner in the oven? We made the apple and pumpkin pies this morning, and now the turkey is going. My wife makes the world's best stuffing (in my opinion of course) - it's an olde English recipe that includes sausage and it's to die for! Roast veggies and my sister's green bean casserole, mmm mmm mmm! Can't wait to sit down with everyone and dig in!

I was never a fan of stuffing growing up. Something about the look and texture of it just turned my stomach.
One year, though, I was managing a video store. We were one of the only stores open Christmas Day, and I scheduled myself to start an evening shift and give time to the staff who opened the store to get home and have dinner with their families. My mom had served dinner early, and knowing I was working with two people who didn't go home to their families for Christmas, I brought in a bunch of leftovers for them, and we had our own little informal Christmas dinner in the store. I STILL couldn't bring myself to try the stuffing, but mom's stuffing got rave reviews. (lol, we even had some customers asking for a taste and, ultimately mom's recipie) I finally manned up and tried it the following Christmas, and loved it!What do the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Titanic have in common?
They both look good until they hit the ice.

I know what you mean working US accounts. I have been dealing with customers south of the border for close to 10 years now. The one company I worked for was a drag because they policy was "we have to work holidays becasue our customers expect us to be in the office and we have to work their holidays (I.E. American Thanksgiving) becasue it is not a holiday in Canada. So those days (esp Thanksgiving) were incrediably slow. In fact for Thanksgiving, we used to work the morning and then find a bar and watch NFL for thes rest of the afternoon. I guess the other plus was that we had the choice of a lieu day or time and a half. CHA CHING! But the company I work for now gives us every CDN holiday so its nice being home with the rest of my family.

i was just listening to jason ward saying the typical thanksgiving dinner contains 3,000 to 4,000 calories (which i didn't think was bad, considering), which is the daily caloric requirement for a man of 180lbs! I still think it's better for us than one lunch from mcdonald's, harveys, burger king, etc!
....one more day of leftovers, yum!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I made our turkey dinner on Saturday and on Sunday, Mark and I enjoyed 2 thanksgiving dinners, one at my Mom's and one at Mark's Aunt and Uncle's house. We had to pace ourselves, which was hard because the dinners were awesome! Today was a jammie day! We watched tv, had a nap and raided the fridge on the leftovers!
Happy Thanksgiving Q'bee and have a good start your week!DebnMark

Whoa. I'm feeling extra wide today. lol
My 10 year old daughter and I made turkey, stuffing, two kinds of potato, sauteed garlic asparagus, corn, string beans, carrots, broccoli, crescent rolls, pumpkin pie and apple crumble. Whew!
Terry is a happy boy!! Full, but happy.
