I'm just back from the hospital where I had surgery to repair an ankle I broke on Saturday evening as I thoughlessly ran out of the house and slipped on the ice.

I gave up skiing back in ought '80, before I figured I was in Originally Posted by Two Iron

At the first meeting I attended of the Peel Scale Modellers' Club,
I caught my boot heel on the carpet at the top of the stairs and fell
(tumbled, really) all the way to the basement, breaking my right
ankle in the process. SO MUCH FOR CAUTION!!
I cannot wish you a speedy recovery, since I know it just doesn't
happen that way - but hope you have proper help and support!

Wow, I'm sorry about your ankle Two Iron. That would really be painful. It can happen to anyone in the winter, I've known people who have broken ankles and arms out there. I try to be careful but sometimes we are just in too much of a rush. Like me last week, I was rushing down the street about 10 a.m. when I tripped on something and went down, right down, on my front banging my chin on the ground and ending up splayed out front first. Geez, I must have looked ridiculous, at least it was on a side street and not on Queen Street!
My chin still hurts, but it didn't leave a mark!
Anyways the moral of the story - be careful out there!
