A very good friend of mines daughter was killed in an accident at Pharmacy and Lawrence in the wee hours of the morning today. She was only 19. She leaves behind a 18 month old little girl. The young fella that was driving didnt have a license, had plates on the car that were registered to another vehicle, fled the scene, and, was driving at a high rate of speed. At first I felt rage pump through my veins, but, as the day wore on, the rage was replaced by a deep sorrow for all involved. This young man made a huge mistake that will live with him for the rest of his days and when I think of it, many young men, myself included, broke speed limits and drove recklessly trying to impress girls, but thankfully, most of us were fortunate to make it home. All in all it is a tremendous tragidy that I would wish on nobody. So, with this being said, please take a minute to talk to anyone in your life that may be at the age to make these terrible decisions and let them know just how fragile life is.
God bless you Nicole, and may you be at peace.
....I am sooooo sorry to hear about this.....and what about her little one?.....there are so many idiot people running around, and this up and coming generation just doesn't get it....they are NOT Superman, and they DON'T know everything, and s**t WILL happen, even to you ( please don't jump on me, I have 2 sons, 20 and 18, who think just like this driver, so I have seen the attitude first hand)....
....so now this friend of yours has to bury his daughter.....as a parent, this is the one thing we fear the most with every fibre of our being, that a child of ours wll precede us to their graves.....it goes against the way it should be..... we should leave our children behind, not the other way around .....Skidooman, I honesly have no words to tell you how sorry I am.....it's a worst fear realized, and your friend will never be the same....OMG.....TR

Had a wonderful time last night. I won't even try to do a review, suffice to say that the concert started with Michael Burgess leading everyone in a rousing chorus of O Canada (what else do you sing when he comes on stage wearing red Olympic mitts, shouting "We won gold!" ) and ended with his signature piece, the prayer from Les Mis, touching on Sondheim, Webber, Elton John & Leonard Cohen along the way.

Dinner was at a cute little place called Nexus that had good food (a smidge pricy, but it *was* across the street from the theatre) & live music.

All in all, we had a fun time, even if I didn't get to bed til well after my normal curfew.
Oh & I finally got an invite to the party Sat, so I'll see ya'll there.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day! It's grey & cloudy, but at least there's none of the white stuff in the air.

    Good morning fellow Canucks!

    skidooman
It is tragic to hear about the girl in that accident. I heard about that on the news yesterday. It is even more disheartening to know that it affected on of us Smart Canucks. Very sorry to hear about that.

Well folks, I repped my way into the penalty box once again. When the time comes, I'll get to the rest of you. In the meantime (hey don't I sound like Saul Korman of Korrys), thanks a bunch for the words, trivia and reps.

    Have a great day folks!

Is swapping the burner a simple process? I've had some experience changing soundcards and such. It looks like a simple matter of removing the old piece of crap, plugging in the new one and updating the software.
Switching out is pretty simple and straightforward. Couple of screws, plug, replace. (unless it's a laptop) Update drivers.
Try Factory direct for a good price!
I'm confused. Wait... Maybe I'm not!

Good Morning and Happy Friday Q'bees,

Yeah! I get to hang out here for the day! It's putter around the house, listen to music, and cooking for the w/k day for me which I'm sooo looking forward to! The simple things in life I'm growing to appriciate so much more this year. Between my kitchen and backyard in the spring and summer is where I'm the happiest!

I got a surprise on Daytona Race Day! Mark made chilli, we watched the race and what a great race eh everyone?! Mark got us tickets to go to Michigan in June! My first Nascar race! I'm excited and it was the best Valentine's Day gift. We normally don't reconize Valentine's, other than "Cheers, love you". It's nice to start to look forward to something again and as I look out into my backyard, I'm already planning the garden and flowers.

Thanks to you loyal posters for the w.w., trivia, reps and posts that made my morn!

    Happy Friday Q'bees,
    DebnMark

I've avoided Factory Direct ever since their store near me started looking more and more like a flea market stall, lol. Their prices seem okay, but most of their product is refurbished.

Truer words were never spoken! Many doctors do indeed receive either kickbacks or "incentives" from the pharmaceutical companies for prescribing the drugs they do, and quite often will even lie to the patient, and prescribe inappropriate drugs so as to not jeopardize such relationships. I have first hand proof of that fact. But unfortunately in Canada, most Doctors are members of a virtual medical mafia type organization called the Canadian Medical Protective Association, which strongly protects its members from being sued, or will defend them if sued. As a result, unfortunately patients almost always lose in any legal battle brought forward.
