I actually like having the 'like'.
You can still rep!

So what qualifies as General Discussion? That's where this post started

I like how there's three options to show your appreciation for someone's post. You can like their post, thumbs up their thread and leave a rep!

I think it will work... I think you will get more "likes" than rep in my opinion. It is an instant thing. No need to type anything as you do in rep. I give more rep than I get lol. Love the "Like"

Likes and rep are two different things. Like is more for "I like this deal" or "thanks for posting the flyer." Rep is a more personal comment to another member...maybe just a hello or maybe they commented on Lysol in a flyer and you can rep them telling them Lysol are also on sale somewhere else.
Personally, I like the reps..it's a way for me to know what is on other's minds. And I also like the likes (LOL) they help the most popular deals stand out that I would otherwise miss.
Tea Room is general discussion on things that don't involve SC. "Site related" is for things that involve SC, like things not working, or ideas to change specific things about it.Last edited by AmberLab; Fri, Mar 23rd, 2012 at 01:06 PM.

What's wrong with having reps and like? This site encourages positive expression, so both are good.

I didn't even know there was a like button. Is this new? I do tend to "like" things whenever I agree with something. I don't use rep very often because I never know what to say with the rep and then there's that whole annoying thing about having to spread it around before you can rep the same person again.
