Hey, I'm not a lumberjack, or a fur trader....
I don't live in an igloo or eat blubber, or own a dogsled....
and I don't know Jimmy, Sally or Suzy from Canada,
although I'm certain they're really really nice.
I have a Prime Minister, not a president.
I speak English and French, not American.
And I pronounce it 'about', not 'a boot'.
I can proudly sew my country's on my backpack.
I believe in peace keeping, not policing,
diversity, not assimilation,
and that the beaver is a truly proud and noble animal.
A toque is a hat, a chesterfield is a couch,
and it is pronounced 'zed' not 'zee', 'zed' !!!!
Canada is the second largest landmass!
The first nation of hockey!
and the best part of North America
My name is Joe!!
And I am Canadian!!!

ZED!! As in, rhymes with SAID.
It is so frustrating for me when I go to the US. The cashiers give me this funny look when I say zed. Then, I say, "oh yeah, its ZEE for you isn't it." LOL

I say Zee! And I don't get the A-boot thing? I've never heard anyone say A-boot, ever.

some moron in the states once proceeded to tell me that because i am Canadian, i say aboot.
i was like huh? i have never heard anyone say aboot.
i think some popular Canadian humor is sometimes very eastern Canadian. us westerners don't know half the things y'all are talking about ;p
and the "eh" thing. i have never said it, don't know ppl who say it, didn't hear it growing up except for on TV.

I say "eh" all the time without even realizing it. Like if someone told me some weird story I'd say, "Wow! That's crazy, eh!" Until an american friend started pointing it out, I had no idea how much I said it!!

I used to work where a lot of Americans went to holiday. They were quite interesting. Especially the one woman who insisted it couldn't be snowing. It must have been feathers from geese! I gave up and just wished her a nice holiday.

I'm from the U.S. originally and I have said eh since as far back as I can remember. Funny story: The first time I ever came here it took me forever to clear customs and the customs people were a bit cranky. I met my friend once I got done with customs and was telling him the issue I was having getting through. His said, 'Well, I know. Buddy from Customs came out and told me you were almost through.' I replied, 'How do you know his name was Buddy? Did he tell you his name or did you read it on his badge?' He started laughing and explained to me all about the use of the word 'buddy'.
