    My First Men's Shelter Donation!

I have my shelter donation ready to go. I did my ladies one in September and I had the men's ready to go in December but it just didn't make it there. Tried to drop it off a few times and there was no one there to answer the door. I am off to donate again tomorrow. Someone should be there as it is Saturday this time.

    My donation:
    10x Gillette bonus razor gift packs(each has a razor/shave gel/small travel bodywash)
    10x Gillette bodywash
    10x Old Spice deoderant
    10x Lever 2000 bar soap
    10x Crest/Colgate toothpaste
    10x Oral-B/Reach Toothbrushes

I spent about $3 ($7 on clearance -$4 Gillette razor coupon) each on the razor gift sets. A couple of $'s on the soap. It was B1G1(packs of 4) at Safeway and I had $1 coupons which I was able to use for both. The one I bought and the free one. The rest I stacked at LD or used coupons to get free(Zellers/Safeway). Just had to pay the taxes on it all.
Total spent about $40 and I was able to make 10 sets. I didn't put them in baskets this time as I was told from someone who works there that they like to just give things 1 at a time to the people that need them. These are going to a men's shelter. Where they can get a place to sleep for the night or grab a shower and get cleaned up. Their donation sheet on the door says only donations of toiletry items(and they list these) and towels are excepted. I was excited that everything I was donating was on the list!
    Now to start collecting again!!

That's fantastic. I am working slowly on men's donation too. Hopefully with the brandsaver coupons coming I can get great stuff like you did.

We are under a tight budget so if I can't get it for free or nearly then I can't donate. So I watch carefully and stack at LD for pennies and it helps.

    WTG!!!
The P&G coupons awhile back with the save $4 off a razor really helped. And I was able to get all the bodywash and deoderant with B1G1 Free. I have given away some of the Gillette deos since I have family that use that kind and also the same for the Old Spice bodywash.LOL So that's why my shelter donation has half and half of Old Spice and Gillette.

Next time around I hope I can find nearly free or free shampoo!! That's my next mission. And since I will be buying in groups of 10 even $1 each is too much.
