Love these stories. It is nice when RAOKs are appreciated.
Just joined Kiva.org, an organization that funds micro-loans to people in developing countries. I love the idea that the $25 I saved in groceries can be given to a fish woman with 5 children in the Philippines to help grow her business.

What a great story. I smiled because what you did and their response was totally a "small town" thing to do. lol. I live in a small town and I absolutely love it. Yes, people are nosy and gossipy and the rumours always swirl in the strangest ways and it seems everyone knows your business...but small town folk are notoriously kind, thoughtful and friendly. I love the fact that when I walk down the street, it doesn't matter who I meet or whether I know them or not, we always exchange "hellos" and chit chat about the weather and such...and that's coming from someone who is a big-time introvert. lol.
Yours was a truly great story of mutual kindness!"Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken." Oscar Widle
