or at least somewhat brown lol.
I now proudly own my own compost bin, full of damn expensive red wiggler worms filled with icky food left overs lol. Am waiting for my black gold from them.
Started planting all my veggies indoors, and they are actually growing, wooo hooo. (this coming from someone who can kill a fake plant and cacti somehow lol) I've potted green onions, tons of tomatoes, radish, dill, marjoram, garlic and some other stuff. I baby them everyday. My husband made me a big lamp for extra light, so I'm pretty stoked. I'm sure I'll kill em all when I transplant them though lol. Might build a greenhouse to protect them, nothing fancy or big bucks, recession still going on here. We are in the process of converting our deck into a sun room. Am so excited. Man I'm getting old, how interests change eh? lol.
I need some ideas please. We just put up some smooth plywood for some of the walls, and sun flex for the sun part. I don't want to just paint the walls, I'd like to do something a bit fancier to hide the wood. Any ideas?
I thought of some cheap ceramic tiles, but they'll shift with the weather changes, as well as square lino tiles. I would like to cover the wood seams and just make it look nicer. It's just a sun room, but I am fussy about looks of my place. I utubed ideas, and 1 looks kinda interesting. Someone used brown paper bags, glued them to the wall then painted...it gave it this neat textured look, almost like a wallpaper. (they crumpled up the paper then straightened it out) Has anyone tried this? Any of neat ideas floating around out there?
I know, I just typed a story here lol. Back to my babbling ha ha.This thread is currently associated with: N/ALF: $ 4.00 off any covergirl, 2.00 axe,RLF ARMSTRONG cheese, black diamond, 3.00 gain. 2.00 Majesta. Have 5.00 walmart gc.

That's awesome, but I can't add a thing really. Don't know anything about composting or growing indoors - other than having grow lights. The one time I started seeds inside, they got all leggy and didn't make it to transplant.
About the worms - here on our Freecycle site, people ask for and give them....

My place is far from big as well. I had a lady show me how to do it. I bought a huge rubbermade container and am using that. It's maybe 4 feet long or so. I keep it indoors, no smell nothing, and I just checked and my worms are having babies lol.
I've also gotten into trying to breed mealworms and kingworms for my critters. Have around 1300 king worms, and 500 mealies. Starting to pupate so i'll keep my fingers crossed. Stupid thing is, I'm freaked out bigtime with beetles and that is part of the process, I guess hubby gets that job lol.LF: $ 4.00 off any covergirl, 2.00 axe,RLF ARMSTRONG cheese, black diamond, 3.00 gain. 2.00 Majesta. My eldest dd suggested a greenhouse idea to me last year she said use milk jugs for walls the water insulates and the plastic lets the light in I kinda forget the rest. She gets alot of great ideas researching earth ships ( thats her and her dh's dream home ) My sunroom is a glorified back porch with lots of windows, its perfect for starting plants.

Some earth ships are really "out there" but there are alot of great ideas. In the summer saving bathwater to water the plants instead of paying for the water then paying for it to be waste water then paying for it again to water plants. She stores it in plastic totes, also the one I like is having a few chickens they eat all the organic waste, and they give you eggs and fertilizer, they are very social as well. I also like the straw bale gardening idea. But back to the walls what about something reflective? Is it ideas for finishing the inside walls that you are wanting??

Yes, the inside walls. Just something different but no tacky looking lol.
I'm allowed to have 25 chickens where we live now, but with the place up for sale not sure if it's wise to start that. Mind you the housing market is flat right now. I used to have chickens years ago, I loved them, they were so tame and friendly. I miss them. They used to snuggle in my arms, I had them so passive.
With saving the bath water, wouldn't all the soap in the old water kill the plants? I'm not sure how to post a pic of the bare walls on here, I will try then you will have a idea.LF: $ 4.00 off any covergirl, 2.00 axe,RLF ARMSTRONG cheese, black diamond, 3.00 gain. 2.00 Majesta.
