We're all aging, it's a fact of life, but it's been said that 'You're only as old as you feel.'...
What do you consider as 'young' and 'old'?
...is there a number, is it a state of mind, or is it relative...
Disclaimer: Please note, I am not asking for your ages ladies and gents.

I think age is irrelevant.
Im 23 but I consider myself an old soul. I rarely attach myself to anyone close to my age.

I think it's relative, to an extent. When I was 15, I used to think 30 was so old. Now that I am coming up to that, it doesn't feel so bad
At the same time, "old" is older than my parents. So it's a sliding scale.
That being said, sometimes when I am not really thinking about it I still place myself in the same group as the current pop singers because I was always the same age as Britney or anyone of that era. Kind of silly but in my head I am 16.

I agree with alicia, that it's totally relative - it's become more and more apparent as I've gone through the decades, and also having four older siblings has changed my perception, too.
When I was 20, 50 seemed old.
At 40, 70 seemed old.
Now in my early 50s, old seems like anything over 80.
In my head/heart I'm still in my early 20s... (though as wonderful and fun as it was, I don't want a do-over!)

Natalka said it all, I agree it is all relative. I wouldn't mind reliving my 30's though!!

I am in my mid30s and even though I do not feel old (I feel like I am in my early 20s still). I look at my skin and hair and the odd grey pops up here and there and I see the odd fine line here and there, so I know it is coming.
I will combat the physical signs of aging for as long as I can so I can try to match how I feel inside.
I will NOT admit that I am old until I start driving like my grandmother.Last edited by i_forget; Wed, Sep 11th, 2013 at 11:58 AM.

I will be 51 in a couple of months. Even looking at that number is weird. I certainly do not feel like it, I don't act like it
and thanks to L'Oreal Mousse I don't look like it
.
When I think of "old" now I think 80 + is old. Then again my dad is 89 very healthy and "all there". I plan to hit 100. I wonder when I reach 100 what will I think is old

I don't look 33 at all. People still ask me for my ID sometimes. Sometimes I get weird looks from old women when I have DS with me probably because I look like a young teenage mom lol. DH looks young too. So we often get people telling us that we have a lot of time ahead to have a second child (no we don't!
, DH is 36) or it's great that we had DS young (well no, I was nearly 30!).
I also like having fun with young kids like playing hide and seek. There's always an inner child in me who wants to have fun. Before having DS, I was the cool aunt and my nieces loved sleeping in my bed or going in our car for road trips instead of their parents'.
I see myself having the same attitude even when old. I'd be the cool grandma lol.

Most of the most pleasant people to be around are elderly, and the most annoying are 20.
With Viagara on the market, age doesn't mean anything anymore. Just keep your wife smiling back at you, and life will be good.
