Thread: What's blooming in your yard?

Well, I started cleaning up the dead leaves and branches. Can't walk on one section of the grass - I'm afraid of sinking up to my ankles. The hostas are taking their sweet time showing themselves, I can't inventory what died and what survived. We need a few more days of this weather and then perhaps they'll come out of hiding.

the backyard has brownish grass that is changing to green

was looking at the brown grass and noticed it moved
the rabbit is back -- made it through the winter
hey, wait a second, now there are two

That's always been a pasque flower for me.

That's really pretty, never saw such a bloom.
Around here, prairie crocus
They grow like this - in seemingly dead fields.

No blooms yet, but tulip tips, hosta tips, iris, peony tips, yarrow and maltese cross are starting too. I had to buy some pansies and geraniums for color today.

I've got violets growing in my grass again this year. Last year I moved some to fill in a flower bed but there seems to be more in the lawn. I'm also growing a wildflower seed mix inside to transfer out once I see what I get (I bought at Target on clearance last year
, i miss those deals)

Picked first rhubar starks yesterday. Clementis is nice and green but no flowers yet. Iris and glad coming along good. One Iris has a flower bud Planted some black-eyed susans yesterday. Hopefully more luck with them this year I tried growing them last year but nothing came up for some reason.
