What's blooming in your yard?

So much to learn from you ladies. So subscribed. My day lilies are going to bloom for the first time. Nothing exciting but we planted them two summers ago and this will be the first debut in our garden.

Yeah don't panic when all the leaves fall flat to the ground after blooming lol.

Gojays the heat is great in the sense that things are growing like crazy but now we need rain sick sick sick summer.

Was at a farm yesterday where I go to pick my own veggies and he had a pretty gloomy outlook on this season. Everything is 2-3 weeks behind and some crops will probably be a bust. He said eggplant, onions, peppers will be ok but he was not too sure about tomatoes and zucchini. Not sure about potatoes yet.

A welcome visitor. Saw a beautiful small red one this morning too and we have the HUGE blue/black ones also.

well I think that rain IS coming Patty ( here at least) sure smells like rain in the air out there, despite the sun going in and out.

Yes they are calling for severe thunderstorms today . I just hope my hydrangeas hold up.

man....I tell you if anyone ever tells you to plant mint don't do it unless it's in a container!! This stuff is growing like wildfire through my garden and my lawn! I can't seem to get on top of it. I'll spend an hour pulling this stuff out by hand and think i got it all...then next week i see more. It's so evasive. Now it's coming up through the lawn about 20 feet away from where it originally started! Holy cow this thing is tough!
On the plus side...it smells all minty when i mow the lawn!

I know!! We have never been one to stifle Mother Nature, but how much mint does one need? We have tons, always have, it never dies! lol!!! I would not even trust it in containers unless I spaced them far away from each other!

I normally don't like to pull out any plants. I sometimes even give weeds a chance if they flower! But this stuff is taking over everything else I've planted. It doesn't give any other plant a chance. I was going to keep a small patch of it...but it just runs rampant under the ground and pops up wherever it wants. Next thing I know im gonna find it on the front lawn.
Plus, I think it bothers the dogs paw pads.
I even let my dog pee on it and nothing! Still lives!

I have Alyssum growing everywhere. I planted it about 6 years ago and now it's everywhere. In the front yard, back yard in every crack lol

I finally gave up and let it grow almost the whole length of the front of the hedge now. This year I also have petunias and snap dragons seeded all over the place too and lets not even talk about the impatiens lol.

At least all of yours are little and they have nice flowers, Patty For me it's Rose of Sharon and little catalpa trees coming up everywhere. The smoke tree has quite a few offspring as well.

Im having the same issue with the purple violets omg.. so annoying
anyway had to share a lovely mother nature story from this morning.. i was watering some hostas hubby is 'breeding' had a nice stream going, when this robin came out of nowhere and landed like 10 feet from me i said 'hi mr. robin', it looks at me, then the water stream. i said 'go ahead, ill hold it still' fully intending to watch it fly away, instead it jumped up onto our deck and sat under the stream, fluffed its head and wings, turned to me as if it say ' aww thanks'' and flew away, i was in shock. gives me a whole new incentive to keep watering the 'babies'. maybe 'robin' will come back.

Nice story...we get a big bird party in our backyard when we water the lawn....I get a kick out of watching them all from the bedroom window.
