What's blooming in your yard?

Agghhhhh! More snow and lots of it, about as much as what melted a few days ago!
Well at least my seeds I started are starting to sprout. Tomatos are about 2 in, castor beans, rosemary, summer savory, geranium and petunias, , waiting on peppers, more petunias, lime basil, cannas, datura. I gave up on marigolds, will just buy them.

The iris in a patch close to the house are sticking their little noses out. Brave little things!

Elephant ears are also a kind of plant, not just fried treats? I learned something new this morning!

Elephant ears are beautiful. My neighbor planted some in the front of his house and they were enormous! I have one in a pot and I get a few piddly little leaves every summer.. lol.



His plants were about this big too ^^

Spring???

10cm of snow here for Wednesday

We got half snow half rain here and now Saturday another 5-10cm

The snow is melting a bit and I can see the edges of the lawn wooohooooo!!!

Two teeny slender stalks of crocuses have emerged in front of the older pair still holding back on blooms. Had to move oak leaves to see the newbies.
Plan on raking the pine needles scattered over parts of the front yard tomorrow-they are slippery.
Yesterday, I was able to pry one pine tree limb off the still noticeable bed of ice/snow underneath and I remembered it was three months to the day that the limbs became the December cleanup headache. Still have a couple more limbs and small branches to thaw.

We still have lots of snow on the ground, but the green onions and Creeping Thyme have started to grow again in their sunny corners. It's so nice to see!

Indoors, I have leeks, eggplants, marigolds, and Swiss Giant pansies growing. Can't wait to start the peppers and tomatoes.

The snow has melted enough in the backyard so I can see the soil in shape of pots emptied last year by the last tenant.
But gee, we had plants in our former place we sure will miss like irises, chives and especially green onions which were from my mom decades ago!
Hmmm.... I wonder if my husband could go back and snitch some onion through the back fence...
