they are beautiful GoJays. I recenrly moved and am still figuring out what's growing in my yard. The catalpa tree flowers look like a tree that's growing in my yard. It finished flowering like a month ago though
as well I have this unknown plant:
This one is a trumpet vine which is in bloom right now:

I love trumpet vines, I don't have the space for one though
The middle picture looks like it could be a climbing hydrangea.. compare it to this pic from google images
Your flowering tree is pretty, I wonder if it's a different variety of catalpa.. the leaves are right but the flowers are a little different. Mine was blooming in June as well, I only just got around to posting the picture today

This is in response to the question about what fertilizers used on veg.
Mostly sheep manure from a local organically run hobby farm. We only use natural inputs.

No pods on my flowering unknown tree GoJays. As well, the bark on it is papery and flaky unlike a regular tree. Do catalpa flowers have a scent?

I'm posting this one in case the wonderful SCer who sent me teeny hosta shoots in the mail is viewing this thread... Kalmel... thanks again
BCGal.... Looking at the shape of these, I'm guessing they aren't butternut..guess we'll find out soon enough if they're butterCUP huh
And lastly.... Tromboncino squash because I'm ecstatic they're producing this year and they're freakish lookin'.... not sure how much bigger I'll let it get

....so, i think my i ''MUST'' look at my garden as a hobby and certainly not as a feeding mean for us...or we will starve to death
i'm all excited about the 4 or 5 tomatoes on my 1 tomato plant and about the 6 finger size zucchinis ( more to come ) on my 2 plants....plus some tiny cherry tomatoes, extra tiny peppers on 1 Pepper plant and none on the other 1.....few earth cherries on the plant that survive the big winds 2 weeks ago...... nothing but leaves on cucumber plants....
and as a try the 3 flowers on my 1 small watermelon variety plant....for this one the lady at the green house told me i must live only 3 flowers and get rid of the extra one if i want to have watermelon....and she told me the best size she had in her plant were a little bigger than a baseball ball........will see.....
that'S the result of living in North pole....or close to
P.S BTW, ladies , i'm so jalous of your gardens.....not in a bad way though......i'm happy for you to be able to get all those wonderfull plants.....please , keep posting your photos..... i love seeing themLast edited by Mia001; Fri, Jul 25th, 2014 at 05:20 PM.

I’m growing Lavender plant in my front yard, I don’t have any tips, I’m new to gardening, I just tried it and it worked! It looks nice and it smells good as well.
