I hate to say this and it wasn't really my fault, but hit a seagull with the car on Monday. I thought is would fly away before I to close, but the dang greedy thing didn't move until I was almost on top of it.

Despite everything else going on in life,I have joy in watching all the birds coming to my feeder.
The Blue Jays must have a nest somewhere, because they have been filling up on the small seed, rather than the usual sunflower seed.
I read that they can hold up to 8 or 9 acorns in their mouths, for which they can transport food to their nest.
Although I read the males do that job,I believe I have seen both here at the same time.
The Cardinals are just as beautiful as ever,be it the male or female.
The Chickadees are frequent visitors too,and are certainly not afraid of getting close to me.
Lastly I have the Mourning Doves that like to sit together on the one feeder.Despite their size, they somehow manage.

I've got 2 ducks on my front lawn. Don't know why they are here but they leave at night and come back every day for about 2 weeks now. We can go right up to them and feed them. Waiting to see if I'm going to end up with a family in my pool one day. Sooo cute!

Quite the noisy battle going on in my neighbors pine. We have blue jays nesting in there but for some reason these freakin' gigantic noisy crows are trying to oust them or eat them not sure which. My cats are getting a lot of mileage out of this one. They sit under the tree for hours and look up. Knowing better than to climb a pine, thankfully.

Cardinal nearly flew into my door twice today.

Very strange because it would be unable to see its reflection.

I saw an American Redstart for the first time a few days ago. I have never seen them in my area before so I was very excited. Wasn't able to get a picture though. The are black with an orange patch on their wings and tail, and a light gray belly. Very cute little bird!

Looked it up online,it is quite a beautiful bird.
Seemed to look like a cross between a sparrow and a robin.

Morning, I saw a bird in the yard to days ago that had a red chevron on the back/croen of it's head. That is the only thing that stood out.... anyone have an idea what it might be. The wings seemed brown and the belly a mustard color
The only question I cannot answer... why?

Although not a bird,I saw a Monarch Butterfly today.
They seem to be few and far between this summer.

I also saw my first American Redstart early in July this year. Our rose breasted grosbeaks are bringing the whole family to feed on our sunflower seeds in the feeder. The purple martin babies are now flying and the wires are jammed with tree swallows getting ready to migrate south soon.
