I didnt see any today, but when I was up at 5 am tending to Zoodle when I opened the patio door there were tons of birds chirping!
Truly this has got to be a sign spring is coming soon!

Just this past month there was a sparrow eating in my log cabin bird feeder when all at once another bird swooped down and grabbed it in its claws. The bird was the size of a Canada Jay and about the same colour but it had more white on it. After searching the bird books that I have, I think it was loggerhead shrike which will do this and attack other birds ever larger themselves. When I opened the door to scare off this bird it flew away with the sparrow in its claws. Apparently they will impale their kill on a tree branch or stick. It was the first time I had ever seen this bird.

Robins, chickadees, juncos (we have them too!), northern flickers (woodpeckers), and some finches in the back yard today. Plus hearing the red winded blackbirds

Seen Robins for a while now, actually a pair of them

The Steller's Jay stays all year round so there is not a day that I don't get to see a bird

    Honest!

    So much for feeding them!

Too bad they all look the same, or I'd have a good talk with this one!

Apparently someone in town saw a Robin! Word is spreading like wildfire... But I think that poor Robin is in for a shock... I don't think this is a 'real' spring yet...
