Apparently the shooter has mental issues and he is a 62yo man. The Canadian Army uses AK47, maybe that's how he got one? Apparently they don't shoot straight lol

I am not a separatist, but no one deserves such a scare. Very sad event.

Let's not freak out already, PQ won by a slight minority. They can't hold a referendum. Now, let's hope the Liberals get someone with their head on their shoulders to lead the party for the next election (in like 6-8 months... or sooner).

So, I was reading the Toronto Star today and in the letters to the editor there were more accusations lobbed at the Tories of voter fraud with Robocalls. I thought the investigation showed the liberals to have been involved? And someone said 76% voted against Harper. Where are they getting these numbers from?

More accusations against Harper. Did they wait to ensure no heat would be on the liberals so they could attack the tories again?

Kenyan policeman killed , 11 injured in church attack

A grenade attack on a church in a police compound in eastern Kenya has killed one police officer and injured at least 11 other people, reports say.
The man who died was serving as pastor of the targeted church, in Garissa town near the border with Somalia.
Most of the wounded are also reported to be police officers; some of whom were airlifted to hospital in Nairobi.

Bishop Tawadros new pope of Egypt's Coptic Christians

Bishop Tawadros has been chosen as the new pope of Egypt's Coptic Christians, becoming leader of the largest Christian minority in the Middle East.
His name was selected from a glass bowl by a blindfolded boy at a ceremony in Cairo's St Mark's Cathedral. Three candidates had been shortlisted.
The 60-year-old succeeds Pope Shenouda III, who died in March aged 88.
He succeeds as attacks on Copts are on the increase, and many say they fear the country's new Islamist leaders.
Bishop Tawadros has studied in Britain
The other two candidates were Bishop Raphael and Father Raphael Ava Mina. They were chosen in a ballot by a council of some 2,400 Church and community officials in October.

Coptic Christians are one of the earliest established branchs of Christianity. I've seen some of the early iconography in various museums and there is a lot of influence from classical Egyptian dieties, Mary is often shown in poses reminesent to Isis and Hathor.

eta Boutros Boutros Ghali the former UN Secretry-General is a Coptic Christian.

Everyone up in arms over the PM's armoured cars being shipped to India.

    http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/p...sines-in-india

Sorry but I think it was a good idea. Why take chances? The president has his "beast" flown everywhere also. This is not what's his face flying home on the weekend with canadian helicopters this is the PM going to a foreign country. I think the RCMP would do this for any PM regardless. Much ado about nothing. Ok it cost a fortune, better safe than sorry.

Acetone's a noxious chemical especially as it has a low flash point (-20C)...the fact it used to be used in nail polish remover makes people think it's relatively harmless..

The author of the article has criticized Harper over everything.

I may be wrong but I could have sworn I read a piece of his last year where he criticized Harper for continuing to recognize Israel as a legitimate country.
