was sad to see the passing of knowlton nash.
such an interesting fellow, and what a history he lived
and witnessed. imagine - he took up jogging because
he was friends with jfk's press secretary.
so much he saw in those times.
http://www.cbc.ca/gsa/?q=knowlton+nash
liked the comments/tweets i saw that people
thought the 'national' was actually the
'nashional' - so blaming and thanking knowlton for me
and a lot more of becoming a bit more news junkieish.
was cute some of the faux pas, that happened during his watch
ie saying happy new year - when it was hallowe'en.
and on the last night before new year's when usually
they had 15 seconds left - to find out oh nooo
it is 2 minutes and 15 seconds left.
so of course everyone sang auld lang syne
but only knowlton's mike was on.

Alice from the Brady Bunch has died.
According to the couple she lived with in Texas ... Ann fell in her bathroom early this morning and hit her head causing grave damage. We're told she never regained consciousness.
Her roommate says Davis had been pretty healthy for an 88-year old woman -- and her death was a total shock. In fact, she even walked downstairs to say goodnight before going to bed.

Just so very sad that his family and wife have been fighting this past while since he was so sick.

Tommy Ramone last surviving founding member of The Ramones, dies aged 65.
Tommy Ramone, the last surviving founding member of seminal US punk band The Ramones, has died aged 65 in New York, the group has announced.
The drummer died in hospice care on Friday following treatment for bile duct cancer, US media report.
Born in Hungary, Ramone immigrated to the US in the 1950s.
He started The Ramones with three friends from a New York high-school in 1974. The band have been credited with the invention of punk rock.
Although they were never commercially successful, their unique sound helped shape rock music and is still often cited as inspirations to new generations of musicians.
"There are hundreds, there are thousands, there are millions of melodies happening in Ramones songs," the biographer, Everett True, told the BBC.
"You hear their influence stretch across all of rock music from 1975 onwards... you just hear it everywhere," he said.
Their hit songs I Wanna Be Sedated and Blitzkrieg Bop, among others, earned them an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.

Blues guitarist Johnny Winter dies aged 70
Blues guitarist Johnny Winter, known for his energetic solo performances, has died at the age of 70. Winter - hailed as one of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time - rose to fame in the 1970s, including memorable collaborations with his mentor Muddy Waters.
He passed away in Zurich earlier this week, just days after playing at the Lovely Days Festival in Austria.
He recently said he just wanted to be remembered as "a good blues musician".
The Texas star said he knew he wanted to be a musician from the age of 12. He began his musical career on the clarinet, and then the ukulele, before moving on to the guitar.
His breakthrough came in 1968, at the age of 24, after opening for Mike Bloomfield. It saw him singled out by Rolling Stone as one of the best blues guitarists on the Texas scene.
