Rene Angelil, 73, passed away this morning at his home in Las Vegas - two days before his 74th birthday.



Angélil, who guided Dion's career as her manager and mentor, is survived by the couple's three children – René-Charles, 14, and 5-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy – and his adult children from a previous relationship, Anne-Marie, Patrick and Jean-Pierre.

Angélil started out as a pop singer in the 1960s in Montréal, Angélil formed a pop rock group, "The Baronets", with childhood friends Pierre Labelle and Jean Beaulne
After the dissolution of the group, Angélil and best friend Guy Cloutier began managing artists. Together they managed the career of two successful Québec entertainers René Simard and Ginette Reno, among many other pop stars of the time. They parted ways in 1981 to each become solo managers.

Sorry to hear about your losses. Yes, I've noticed the timing as well - I think sometimes people just 'will' themselves to get through Christmas. I know that's what it seemed both my parents did - they both died at the beginning of Feb. - years apart, though.

Not as well known as some of the above, but some of you of a certain age will remember Grizzly Adams.

RIP: Dan Haggerty, best known for his role in “The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams,” died from cancer early Friday morning in Burbank. He was 74.

Haggerty played outdoorsman James Capen “Grizzly” Adams, who befriends a bear he raises as a cub, in the 1974 surprise box office hit “The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams” and the TV series of the same name, which aired on NBC from 1977 to 1978. He later played Adams in another film (1981) and in a 1982 telefilm
He also had small roles on other TV shows, including “Charlie’s Angels” in 1981 and “The Love Boat” in 1983.
Haggerty most recently appeared in 2013 films “Axe Giant: The Wrath of Paul Bunyan” and “Dead in 5 Heartbeats.”

RIP: Eagles member Glenn Frey has died, 67

Eagles founder, Glenn Frey, in New York City on Monday, January 18th, 2016.

Glenn fought a courageous battle for the past several weeks but, sadly, succumbed to complications from Rheumatoid Arthritis, Acute Ulcerative Colitis and Pneumonia.



One of my fave songs of theirs, he's the lead vocal

You know just an observation from personal experience, I hate January. Almost all my parents major ailments have occurred in January. I dread January. I said to my DH in December just let us get through January again. My mom died in January and my MIL and BIL.
