My grandparents gave my husband and I a king bed + mattresses (2 XL twin mattresses). Big score there as we have never gotten a new bed (in the 15 yrs we have been together)! Went to HomeOutfitters to buy twin XL fitted sheets (what my Nanny suggested I do). After finding a sales associate she said they only have sets (not what I wanted). So I bought 2, anyways (1 per bed) and paid $100.47(they were only 200 thread count, too). It wasn't sitting with me well the whole weekend on how much I paid but DH said that sheets can be expensive. So I did a little more research and found a lil Mom & Pop linen store and decided to check them out. Glad I did!! I got a king sheet set, 300 thread count ( he assured me that it will fit, but if not I can bring them back)$54 , a bed skirt for $10, another top sheet for $10 and the biggest score was a lovely cotton quilt (perfect for summer) reg $109.98 down to $39.98!!!
All for under $140!!! Not only did I get a better deal, but I supported a local store, which to me is important. Will definitly be going back this winter for a down comforter, a king size was only $110!! Thought that was a pretty good deal. This thread is currently associated with: N/A

Way to go! I've been lobbying in our house for a king sized bed, but replacing all these linens can certainly be expensive. You did very well all around!

That's a great find from a local retailer.
Sometimes Walmart Superstore and RCSS has the 200 thread count or higher on clearance, for a good price.

Too funny, I am a starfish sleeper too!!
My DH actually works graveyard shifts and doesn't wake up to go to work until 1130pm. With our old bed (a full/double) I would always wake him up when I went to bed, sometimes I would just sleep on the couch until he went to work. But now I go to bed when I want and don't bother him one bit, and i don't even notice when he gets up for work.(well, except for....wink, wink, lol). Both of us are very happy and for the first time in 15 yrs I haven't woken up with a sore back or stiff muscles!!
