Good afternoon everyone! Great weather here too! Not sure the temp but things are dripping. Sidewalks are icy.. melts than freezes.. I had a mani and pedi today. Woohoo The gift certificate I received at Christmas came in handy for my pampering. First time I had Shellac mani. Preparing for my first visit to the gym tomorrow- clothes etc.

    Good sunny morning, everyone!
So...it seems that from my lovely "bronchitis flu" thingy I had for the past month has now left me with "Tracheitis"!! Yes, folks, another breathing disorder I didn't need, but it's spring, and I have asthma, so whatever breathing disorder is floating around seems to float my way and I don't even get out that often!!!!!
Anyway...it's like the croup that babies get. Only for grown-ups. It just has to run its course, but I do have cough syrup that I'm hoarding just for the nights, an antibiotic to prevent this from turning into "sinusitis" (?), which would honestly just about do me in!!

I'm beginning to dislike this pre-spring time of year immensely.....

But for the rest of you....have a wonderful, sun-shiny day!!! Stay well, everyone!!

Thank you, Dan; it's just what I needed.....

When our doc finished telling us all about this condition, I said to him, "So this is how it happens, then? A broken leg, bronchitis, more breathing problems...until I die?" He laughed and said, "When we start with high quality, which we have here, it just needs a buffing up now and then..." He knows just what to say, bless his heart.....so I guess I'm just getting buff... Embrace your youth, my young Friend...
And thank you for that hug.....

Pretty much same as usual, up at just before 3. Had a half hour nap around 8. Going to try for an hour this aft.
HATE having sleep broken up like this, it's nuts.

Oh, Lynn - I've never heard of that condition, it's too bad you are stuck with something else...

Found out that my great-nephew (gr.8) got a severe concussion yesterday from a basketball hit to the head which had ricocheted off the gym ceiling - he didn't have to stay in hospital, my niece says he's okay this morning, but he will have to get his nose checked to see if it's fractured. Oy, poor young man...

Gray day here, but it's hovering around zero.

Oh, crap, Nat....so sorry your sleep is so broken up....hope you get that nap in. And your nephew, yikes! I sure hope his nose isn't fractured or broken...but if it is, I hope there's an excellent surgeon there should he need one. Poor kid...

+6 here today, so I ventured tentatively to our back yard, but there are still icy patches out there which I tried to avoid; thinking about it now, I don't think I'll do that alone again until that ice is gone. Hubby would sand it all if he knew I wanted out, lol, but I'd rather wait. Still....love, love this sunny +6 day!

Spring is really coming! Yay! We didn't have the snow we did last year, so it won't take long to die!

Lynn, I don't walk out alone either - like you, we didn't have as much snow as usual either, but it's all so icy and rutted everywhere. Husband shoveled and salted yesterday, so that helped.

No problem with getting good docs here for specialty procedures - one of my older sisters is a long-time ICU nurse at the university hospital, and she always makes sure we get the best referrals! It really, really helps to have an 'in'.

Finished baking some muffins to give to our son when he comes over tomorrow, so I'm going to head to try sleep.
If I don't sleep, I at least rest these weary bones/muscles....

    Have a great aft, everyone!

Mmmmmm..muffins! I bake them for our grandson, which reminds me, I should probably do another batch....I make pumpkin/raisin muffins for him...the recipe makes a TON, so I usually make 4 doz, flash freeze and bag half of them, give him the other half, and I still can make a loaf cake! Honestly, it's the best, easiest muffin ever and sooooo tasty!
I've made these many times and they always turn out beautifully!
    Here's the recipe:

    • 1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin puree (one large can, the whole thing)
    • 4 eggs
    • 1 cup vegetable oil (some gals sub with applesauce, but I've never tried it...I should)
    • 2/3 cup water
    • 3 cups white sugar (I cut the sugar to 2 1/2 cups and sometimes sub with half brown sugar)
    • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

    • 2 teaspoons baking soda
    • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (I add at least a tbsp!)
    • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg (I don't use this for our grandson)
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves (ditto)
    • a couple of handfulls of golden raisins

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour three 7x3 inch loaf pans.
    2. In a large bowl, mix together pumpkin puree, eggs, oil, water and sugar until well blended. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and ginger. Stir the dry ingredients into the pumpkin mixture until just blended. Pour into the prepared pans.
    3. Bake for about 50 minutes in the preheated oven. Loaves are done when toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
    4. My muffins take 18 minutes to perfection! Hope you try them...so moist and such a heavenly aroma in the house!
    5. Here's the site: naturally it's Allrecipes.com and just read the 6158 positive reviews! Mine is in there somewhere...LOL!!
    6. Oh...and check out the 367 photos...if you have time! hahaha! Honestly, it's amazing!

Lynn I hope you feel better soon Natalka I hope your great nephew recovers soon from his injury and hopefully his nose isn't broken.

Today I had my first day at the gym which included a free consult with a trainer. She was quite nice and put me through a quick fitness test. 5 min on the treadmill (increasing speed and incline), crunches and flexibility. After all that I spent 45 min walking on the treadmill and used some of the weight machines. Mix of guys and gals. I like it's not jammed packed with people. Going again tomorrow bright and early.
