by Sally Barnes
3.5 of 5 stars 3.50 · rating details · 2 ratings · 2 reviews
Laughed Till They Cried chronicles the lives of three post-war girls who grow up amidst a group of quirky characters in a small town in Eastern Ontario. Ultimately they settle in historic Kingston where they get involved in politics and from the core of a closely knit group of 12 women who call themselves The Cell Sisters - just for the hell of it. The Cell weathers everything life can throw at a group of women hell bent on taking on the world. Nothing can stop them - until old age ruins everything. (less)

Thanks, Loocie! Sounds right up my alley. I have started another book from an Austrailian Author that I've read 2 of her other books. This one is "The House at Riverton" by Kate Morton. I've also read "The Forgotten Garden" and "The Secret Keeper" - both have surprising twists and turns and span lives over generations. I don't know about this one.
I will definitely look into the "Laughed til They Cried" one. Thanks again!
Well - went to a naturopathic doctor today who recommended that I ELIMINATE Dairy from my diet for at least a month and also NO diet sodas - (aspertame problems) - and reducing processed sugar.
All of these are going to be tough for me but I'm trying to reduce these migraines and asthma problems that I have. Any ideas about how to accomplish this? I bought some Almond Milk and unpastuerized honey (at his suggestion) and have some supplements to take. (Also try to stay away from caffeine)
NO MORE ICE CAPS!!!! - A personal tragedy!

Haven't been to sleep yet, going to try in about an hour... I was SO sleepy hours ago, but just couldn't get to sleep.
And it's not because of the heat for once...
Will be nice to have husband home today, and our son will hopefully come over tomorrow to clean the computer.
Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday and

Yum, smores & chilli; you guys are making me hungry. Best I did was Cheetos @ 4 a.m. LOL
It doesn't look like it's going to be warm enough to lay in the hammock here.

Fireworks at the cottage, you can hear them & feel them explode?
Impressive colours will sizzle; is that pyrotechnics morse code?
The boom is loud & it echoes & scares the dog out of its wits,
You can write your name with sparklers, but only until the thing quits,
It is Canada Day my compatriots, don't you just love living this life?
You can be anybody's husband or anybody's wife!
We are in fact a nation that keeps on evolving & growing,
Yet we are so blase about Can-ad-isms, when in fact we should be crowing!
There are issues that we are facing, when don't like it please write your MP,
I've had some patronizing reply when I crabbed about paying hydro "delivery"!
We have hockey, lacrosse, smarties, poutine & nanaimo bars,
Butter tarts, coffee crisp & beaver tails & snow tires on our cars,
We love Tim's with devoted loyalty & Canadian Tire shopping is a given,
We invented duct tape, zippers & pablum, but that is not how we are driven,
We have a land that is vast & impressive for it is a sightseers paradise,
Just do appear in a fuddle duddle phone video, would be my only advice,
Happy Birthday to Canada, as future generations are lying in wait,
Our country will be very good to you, as long as you take charge of your fate.
