Let me just say that it's a good thing we only eat and drink that way one (ish) day a year! I'm ready for my diet to start!! However, brother and his wife will be arriving Monday, staying with DD, so it'll start all over again. THEN the diet!!
I sure hope, and it sounds like it was, a happy day for everyone yesterday.
Today is a day of rest...tomorrow too, likely...Hubby did go out today to pick up a 7' tree with COLOURED lights (yes, I'm a purist that way..), and my Kitchenaid bowls from CT for 9.49 from 29.99...good thing I didn't pick them up before Christmas, lol... The kids are heading to our SIL's side of the family boxing day get-together with kiddlings, so it shouldn't go too late into the early evening.
Enjoy a day of rest everyone!!!

Got nice boots at marks. Website said $99.99 plus extra 20% off at cashier. When I went in they were already marked down to $69 plus extra 20% off.

Here in the maritimes the malls were closed. But that didn't stop me from going to Gateway then to the deli to pick up some pepperoni.
I see that my new laptop was shipped out today, so I'm thankful someone's working on Boxing Day lol

Yes, I'm sure that with two days off, most malls would be intolerable today.

At first I thought it may be my computer, but I remember reading somewhere that they were going to do some maintenance, so figured this was the day.
Nat, that hot chocolate looks good.

Good morning, everyone!11:11am as I type this; surprising how often I see that time.
I thought about venturing out today, perhaps just to HomeSense, to poke around, but then I realized there's nothing I need, so why bother? And besides.....there's white crap outside this morning and I have no real need to familiarize myself with it.
I don't want to start removing Christmas, since I've usually left it all up until "Little Christmas" on January 7th, but it seems a long way off and I feel I need to have our home back to its uncluttered state.
I started reading Bob Woodward's new book, "The Last of the President's Men" that my Hubby remembered to buy me for Christmas and omg....what a nest of vipers Haldeman created around the twitchy and unscrupulous president!! THIS is going to be a great read...might encourage me to watch, "All The President's Men" again for the umteenth time to recall all the characters!
Have a relaxing day, everyone!!!!

A few notations to a poem that I wrote last New Year's Eve,
No quirky advice or suggestions on how you can achieve,
No K-Tel magic moments to help the light to shine,
No maps that need unfolding to help you all align,
You all know the rule of thumb about considering another's feelings,
We also know to be practical when it comes to life & its' dealings,
You may be an animal lover or maybe you're an amazing cook,
Perhaps you danced your way through the seventies & read a self-help book,
Remember the 1980's & did you have one of those shocking perms?
Wasn't there a sappy movie about endearment & its terms?
What did you do in the 90's & did you have Windows 95?
Did you ever think the world could be right there on your hard drive?
Remember all the hoopla about the pending millennium crash?
& are we in the midst of a pace that goes so fast that you almost have a rash?
Now we turn our calendars to a leap year, two thousand and sixteen,
& gone are the days when we would tabulate on a Burrough's adding machine,
Just remember when to take issue & know when it's just time to chill,
Sincerest wishes as always from your pal Val in the land of Loocie-ville.

Marks had a few people but not crazy. Had to take bus past mall to get there and mall looked nuts. Parking lot was packed. Good thing I didn't need anything there. Used my $100 gift card at marks. Today 4th day in a row I'm at cousins. Today is big spaghetti dinner for like 30 people. Tomorrow 9pm back to work.
