22Hicks, whatever each of us goes through is quite enough for anyone to go through after a seemingly innocent tumble. You were in a cast, I had a bracket and screws...but we both went through something that we wouldn't wish on our best enemy, if we had one. No one can understand

Unless someone's been confined to a bed or chair for months at a time, could they understand the frustration, the feeling of losing one's independence. And being in a wheelchair, shopping, the feeling of utter dependence is overwhelming! I could never do that again and have come to understand the difficulties so many people in similar circumstances face.

It's day to day, Sweetie, but you're getting there. Think Spring and all that it's going to offer you in the way of your own independence again!!

I was @ the hospital for almost 8 hours.
- they x-rayed, removed the cast, waited to see the surgeon, he wanted a 2nd opinion, so waited to see another; @ that point, I was sure they were going to operate.
- saw the 2nd surgeon, and he ordered an M.R.I.
- finally, the conscious was - NO SURGERY :excited::excited::excited::excited::excited:
- next, to make things even better, they both were in the room, and agreed that I could have a air cast / boot; I can start to weight-bear, no more than 5 - 10%
- finally, I waited for the physio; she went through a number of exercises; they gave me a requisition to start physio
- follow up appt. in 6 weeks, by which time I should be @ the point I can be 100% weight-bearing, but only with the boot on for support
- they put the boot on, waited for my ride & got home about 5:30
I called the dog sitter to bring Jake home, call a friend to tell her about my day, and she picked up some dinner, so we ate & visited till about 8:30.

Believe it or not, I laid down to rest just before 9, and didn't wake up till 8:30 this morning.

Anyhow, I thought I'd catch you up, and thank you again.

well seems we are all on the mend slowly but surely huh? @22hicks an air cast was great news and with NO surgery but I can see now from what you posted the struggle to actually get the weight on the leg is so tough. Glad your sciatica pain is diminishing some too @Natalka , mine is still here in the leg but most definitely improved in severity since the massage today. Tomorrow is both Chiro and Physio.
Oh @Lynn49 !! getting those lovely new fabrics is such a pick me up, good on you!

As for everyone else, continue on your roads to a great recoveries and an active spring! I wonder if more of us will be digging new gardens to plant and stash veggies for the winter? The prices out there are continuing to rise....!
