Good morning folks!
Pretty cold here today but that means sunshine!
Hiding in my covers "tent" so I keep warm and don't disturb DH who has taken to watching movies that start after midnight!
Cleaned out the front closet yesterday and found all sorts of things I had been missing . Today I have to attack the bathroom linen closet. Another open house this weekend.
See ya later alligators!

Good morning all.
My computer has been giving me problems, so fingers crossed it co-operates the rest of the day.
I tried logging on about 2:30 this morning, then again from about 7:30. Finally, I'm successful.
I hope you have a great day.

I hope no one minds, but I'd like to brag about my son.
I'm so VERY proud of him !!!
He's receiving an award from the police for saving a life last summer.
Here's the story as he posted on Facebook if you care to read.
July 25th, 2015
Apparently searching for a new truck might have saved a life. Today when pulling into a dealership there was a group of people standing around a person on the ground. He was ashen, cyanotic and when I checked was VSA (vital signs absent). I began CPR and with a bystander continued till paramedics arrived. We watched them give him x6 shocks, epinephrine and after 5 minutes load and transfer him into an ambulance. He was unresponsive when the ambulance left, without using their sirens.
However just got a call from the dealership that a family member called and despite my fears he is alive. Unconscious but alive.
Lesson to everyone... Take a freaking CPR course. I was amazed that no one was doing anything when we arrived. I'm amazed that in this day and age there are businesses that don't have portable defibrillators.
People, talk to your employers, they cost about $1000 and can make a real difference. Every minute you delay using a defibrillator you reduce their effectiveness by 10%.

Wow.
I received a letter from Durham Police inviting me to attend a recognition ceremony at Durham Regional Council, regarding the man I gave first aid / CPR to in the summer.
I didn't expect an award, and I am more than happy just knowing the guy lived though it. What's wild is that I don't even know his name.
I'm honoured and touched.
To all my Facebook friends, if you don't have first aid/CPR training, take it. Half a day or a day out of your life won't kill you, but you might be able to make a difference for a friend or loved one.
Way to go Marc.

22Hicks, that brought tears to my eyes, it honestly did! I'm such a mush-ball when it comes to things like this, but to actually KNOW someone like you and your son is absolutely amazing! Of course, brag!! You have every right to!! Parents always seem to get blamed when kids to 'wrong', so it's only fair that I congratulate you on raising such a wonderful son! Not to mention SO cute!! And ita..that's a gorgeous picture of him! I'm so, so happy for you! Are you able to attend the ceremony..is there one? Can you take a picture for us!!?
Not such a bad day today, it started out at -23 but is going way up to -8...not balmy but I was expecting it to stay mighty cold with all the sunshine out there! If I had a place to go, I'd go. But...I want to cut out another 'jacket'; I have a caramel 'suede-like' fabric, so soft and drapey..a nice spring jacket will be nice to have. It's also embroidered with 'daisies' in the same colour...I hope it turns out, at least I won't be sewing stretchy fabrics this time!
Take good care, everyone, stay safe! It's going to be quiet around here this weekend, our DD, her Hubby and our Grandson are flying to the Sault Thursday morning, staying with friends, then the girls will be driving to Boyne, to Great Wolf Lodge, and the boys will be going snowboarding somewhere.
But...there's always football to keep us busy!!

Thanks every1. I don't think I can take much of the credit, but some.
They are making a presentation @ the Regional Council meeting in a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, I'm confined to the house, and wouldn't be able to go. Some of their meetings are televised on a local station, so hopefully I'll be able to see it.

Rats.
We have a guy in our painting class who took beautiful photos off his paused tv of the cutest critters ... he offered to let me paint the squirrel (I love squirrels), but...there isn't a place in our home for such an outdoorsy painting.
I'll stick to my lilacs...which may not be post-worth when I'm done with it. I know what my teacher wants me to do but I have another method I want to use; we'll see who wins.
Sweet dreams everyone!!!
