Good evening!
Just popping in to catch up on the weekend....the 1st b'day party was so much fun and she was just a happiest little thing all afternoon into the early evening!! Not a peep, just giggles! Our DD gave me lots of hugs and kisses, thanking me for all my DH and I had helped with prior to the day and while she and her DH's family were still celebrating in the family room, my Hubby and I did all the serving dishes, and pots etc that weren't disposable and cleaned everything up. We know how much they appreciate us, but it's also nice to be acknowledged. She's such a sweet young woman. We also couldn't ask for a nicer Son-in-law.

When it was just immediate families left, our Grandson asked us all to go outside with him, because he had an announcement to make. We did, and he said he wanted us all to remember someone we lost recently...my Brother, his Uncle Larry. He has taken one of the white helium balloons and printed on it: Dear Uncle Larry, we miss you. I cried, our DD and her MIL were misty, as it floated into the air...we all said, 'we miss you...' as it disappeared. Can you imagine an 8-year old doing something like that by himself? It was such a sweet gesture.........bless his heart......

Looks like you all survived the weekend; can you believe we're almost into September?!! August just flew by!! How come January and February can't do that, too??! Stupid, poopy months.

Wow, Natalka!! I'm not ready for those temps, yet, either!! It's 13 here, sunny, heading to 26.
@Natalka , no Granddaughters for me, unfortunately; this little girl belongs to our son-in-law's brother and his wife. Our DD put on her 1st b-day party since they live in Georgetown and this was their first trip up here with her.

Another day, another chiropractor appt, but I'm getting better day by day; the sunshine makes everything easier to cope with, doesn't it?

Ah, now I understand why you were helping with the party, Lynn!

Yeah, temp was a bit of a surprize, now it's only 2 - apparently there was frost on windshields this morning, and I just hope people didn't have frozen gardens.
We will be back in the high 20s by mid-week, so the nice temps will be back!

Lynn, he's only 8 - how beautiful. Just reading that brought tears to my eyes. How touching.

It's okay, it's already 10 and the sun is out!
I've kept warm by cooking supper ahead of time!

It's just a bizarre anomaly - tonight overnight will be eight, but after that it's back to low teens for overnights, and into 20s for the days.
