being sick sucks!
I was hoping DS's throw up yesterday was an isolated incident but I was wrong.
Now I'm just hoping it doesn't last long and DD doesn't catch it.

I gave DS some melba toast last night (didn't have any saltines) and he got them all over the carpet. Now I have to vaccum in addition to washing 3 of his bed sets and pj's etc.

I was reading online that you're supposed to starve the flu? Is that true? Someone said use the BRAT diet (Bananas, Rice, Apples and Toast). Anyone know if there's any truth to that?

I've always heard the saying "feed a cold, starve a fever" but never specifically for a flu. I know with a flu I generally keep intake very low though...

I've been on the BRAT diet before, and personally I find apples hard on an empty stomach, but apple sauce should be okay. Bananas should be okay I think.

I think for a kid with a tummy bug, whatever they can keep down.
BRAT is usually for diarrhea.
Hope things get better!

morning!!
I've never done the BRAT diet - only cuz DS hates ALL fruits - I'm hoping that with full day kindergarten, he'll slowly get interested in fruits after seeing other classmates eat them.
Anyways, when the kids are sick, I usually do soup. But i always puree the soup so that they are not overwhelmed by all the veggies in it - and its easier for them to just swallow instead of chewing and chewing when they're sick. Even if they just have a couple of spoons, I'm not too worried. And DS likes having "chicken noodle cup of soup" with a straw.

After all this sick talk, and diarrhea talk. I'm off for lunch at east sides, lol. Can't decide between burger, pepperoni pizza, chicken parm sandwich or philly cheese steak. After that is our 2pm meeting at work and then back to bed for a few hours before work tonight.
